Ronda Roaring: requested to hear what's going on with 116 South Danby Rd; in light of discussion re rentals she said that people are renting in the town of danby with small and teenage children living in horrible conditions and Town of Danby, New York 7 February 2023 Town Board Minutes recommended that these parcels need to be checked and inspected for code violations and thus urged the town board to take action and make sure that before people rent out facility that the facility be inspected on a regular basis. 4.2. Ted Crane with comments about all items on agenda. Urged supporting the NYArts Council grant; question on monies collected in January, suggested including the tax collections for the month of January. Noted that use of meeting room has been limited, suggested staying consistent. 4.3. Considerations in Loader Replacement Resolution o64 of 2o23 To Approve Budgeted Fund Transfer Between Accounts Moved By: Gagnon Seconded By: Connors RESOLVED, the Town Board approves the transfer of $9,085 from the Workers Compensation Line, DA9040.800 and $9,085 from the NYS Retirement Line, DA9010.800 to the Machinery Contractual Line, DA5130.400. It has been determined that the replacement in 2023 will be comparable to a long-standing ownership and cost effective considering the elimination of maintenance costs and the purchase of an extended warranty. Now therefore be it RESOLVED, the Town Board gives permission to the Highway Superintendent to enter into the sales contract with Alta Equipment for the replacement of the loader. The amount of the transaction will be $18,170.00 which will be paid for out of the Machinery Contractual Line, DA5130.400. Possible Letter of Support for NYS Council on the Arts Grant Application to Create a Webpage Celebrating Danby's Rural Character 8.2.1. Roaring noted that she had not received any kind of response from her various emails to various bodies and individuals (e.g., Connors, Zisk, CAC, the Board). Under the assumption that the Town was not interested in a grant of this kind; she dropped the matter. No action was taken. 8.3. Schedule Special Meeting With Potential IT Services Vendor 8.3.1. TCNS will be coming to the town hall and highway department to review equipment and offer potential services. In addition, Hunter mentioned concern regarding the way chambers of commerce work on members -only marketing and selling. Possible Action to Replace Pickup Truck Lost in Crash Resolution o68 of 2o23 To Approve Selling the Destroyed 2oi9 Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck Moved By: Woodworth Seconded By: Connors WHEREAS: the 2019 Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck was destroyed in an accident, and WHEREAS: three quotes were gathered from salvage yards within 70 miles from the location of the destroyed truck, and WHEREAS: Ambrosius Auto Parts has given a firm offer of $4,000 for the truck, less $500 for the towing from the location where the truck is parked, Now, therefore be it RESOLVED, the Town Board gives permission for the Highway Superintendent to sell the 2019 Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck that was destroyed in an accident to Ambrosius Auto Parts. The net amount will be $3,500. There was an accident with the 2019 Chevy Silverado Pickup and the insurance company evaluated the loss as a totaled vehicle, and WHEREAS: the Highway Department has gathered three quotes for pickups that Page 7 of 9 Town of Danby, New York 7 February 2023 Town Board Minutes would meet the needs of the town, and WHEREAS: the dealer will still honor the old manufacturers price for a 2023 pickup. After the cutoff date the OGS price will increase and orders will not be able to be made until November of 2023, and WHEREAS: the Town of Danby's insurance company will pay $30,503 to the town for the value of the truck, and WHEREAS: the Town of Danby has a firm offer of $4,000 from Ambrosius Auto Parts for the destroyed truck, less $500 to transfer the destroyed vehicle, Now therefore be it RESOLVED: the Town Board gives the Highway Superintendent permission to place an order for a new pickup truck. The price shall not exceed $50,000. The funds for this purchase will come from the auto insurance reimbursement of $30,503 and the purchase of the destroyed vehicle netting $3,500.
