recommended that these parcels need to be checked and inspected for code
viola ons and thus urged the town board to take ac on and make sure that
before people rent out facility that the facility be inspected on a regular
basis.
4.2.Ted Crane with comments about all items on agenda. Urged suppor ng the
NY Arts Council grant; ques on on monies collected in January, suggested
including the tax collec ons for the month of January. Noted that use of
mee ng room has been limited, suggested staying consistent.
4.3.Andrew Cove spoke about the Beardsley Lane issue regarding tourist home
in low-density residen al zone and certain ambigui es.

Compensa on Line, DA9040.800 and $9,085 from the NYS Re rement Line,

Resolution 065 of 2023 To Allow the Highway Superintendent to Enter into an Agreement with
Alta Equipment for a New Loader Purchase Contract

WHEREAS, the Highway Department has entered into agreements over the last
seven years for the annual replacement of the loader, and

WHEREAS, the loader is a priority piece of equipment that must be in reliable
condi on from year to year to service winter emergencies, and
WHEREAS, an analysis has been done to be certain that the price of replacing the
loader each year is cost effec ve for the town. It has been determined that the
replacement in 2023 will be comparable to a long-standing ownership and cost
effec ve considering the elimina on of maintenance costs and the purchase of an
extended warranty. Now therefore be it
RESOLVED, the Town Board gives permission to the Highway Superintendent to
enter into the sales contract with Alta Equipment for the replacement of the loader.
The amount of the transac on will be $18,170.00 which will be paid for out of the
Machinery Contractual Line, DA5130.400.

8.2.Possible Le er of Support for NYS Council on the Arts Grant Applica on to
Create a Webpage Celebra ng Danby's Rural Character
8.2.1.Roaring noted that she had not received any kind of response
from her various emails to various bodies and individuals (e.g.,
Connors, Zisk, CAC, the Board). Under the assump on that the Town
was not interested in a grant of this kind; she dropped the ma er. No
ac on was taken.
8.3. Schedule Special Mee ng With Poten al IT Services Vendor
8.3.1.TCNS will be coming to the town hall and highway department
to review equipment and offer poten al services.

8.5.Possible Ac on to Replace Pickup Truck Lost in Crash
Resolution 068 of 2023 To Approve Selling the Destroyed 2019 Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck

WHEREAS: the 2019 Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck was destroyed in an accident,
and
WHEREAS: three quotes were gathered from salvage yards within 70 miles from
the loca on of the destroyed truck, and
WHEREAS: Ambrosius Auto Parts has given a firm offer of $4,000 for the truck, less
$500 for the towing from the loca on where the truck is parked,
Now, therefore be it RESOLVED, the Town Board gives permission for the Highway
Superintendent to sell the 2019 Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck that was destroyed in
an accident to Ambrosius Auto Parts. The net amount will be $3,500.

Resolution 069 of 2023 To Approve the Order of a New Pickup Truck

WHEREAS: the Highway Department is in need of a new pickup truck. There was
an accident with the 2019 Chevy Silverado Pickup and the insurance company
evaluated the loss as a totaled vehicle, and
WHEREAS: the Highway Department has gathered three quotes for pickups that

would meet the needs of the town, and
WHEREAS: the dealer will s ll honor the old manufacturers price for a 2023
pickup. A er the cutoff date the OGS price will increase and orders will not be
able to be made un l November of 2023, and
WHEREAS: the Town of Danby’s insurance company will pay $30,503 to the town
for the value of the truck, and
WHEREAS: the Town of Danby has a firm offer of $4,000 from Ambrosius Auto
Parts for the destroyed truck, less $500 to transfer the destroyed vehicle,
Now therefore be it
RESOLVED: the Town Board gives the Highway Superintendent permission to
place an order for a new pickup truck. The price shall not exceed $50,000. The
funds for this purchase will come from the auto insurance reimbursement of
$30,503 and the purchase of the destroyed vehicle ne ng $3,500. The remainder
of $15,997 will be paid out of the fund balance of the Highway Fund.
