Resolution 144 of 2023 To Extend the Meeting by 10 minutes until 20:25 Moved By: Connors Seconded By: Gagnon Vote: Councilperson Aye Nay Abstain Connors X Hunter X Weissburg X Woodworth X Gagnon X Resolution 144 of 2023 passed on 6 June 2023   Motion To Not Consider a Local Law to Change Either the Highway Superintendent or the Town Clerk from Elected to Appointed At This Time Moved By: Gagnon Seconded By: Connors Discussion revolved around when the right time to bring this referendum to the voters since there would never be a “good” time. Along with the timing constraints insofar as the proposed referendum must be submitted to the County Board of Elections in early August to make it onto the ballot, the board needs to hold a public hearing at the first meeting in July, and have enough time to publicize the public hearing. The Board decided to consider this path with several board members supporting the process while one was opposed. Gagnon withdrew the above motion based on the discussion.
