County Representative Dan Klein Hello Town Board, Town of Danby Board Meeting Wednesday 20 July 2022 at 6:ooPM I will not be able to attend tonight's meeting. Here are a few items to report. The federal government is changing its policies and will no longer pay the full cost of Covid testing. Tompkins County will pick up the difference and will continue to provide free testing for all at the mall site. Sales tax revenue continues to break records every month. I believe this is due to both a robust local economy, but also to inflation. If this pace keeps up for the rest of the year, Danby can expect a substantial increase in its portion of the County sales tax revenue. Of course that good news must be balanced with the understanding that our residents are paying more for everything, and that the costs to do Town business are also increasing. There is a tentative redistricting map for the Tompkins County legislative districts. The new district would contain all of Danby and all of Caroline, as it currently does. The small piece of the Town of Ithaca that is currently in the district would be eliminated. Keeping Danby whole was my number one priority for the new map, and the Danby Town Board members also endorsed this idea. The district is currently called district 7, the luckiest number, but will become district 13. 1 expect we will vote to formally adopt the map this summer. 7. Consent Agenda 7.1. Warrants 7.1.1.
