SECTION 1 TITLE - A Local Law Amending the Zoning Law, LL#1 of 2022, Regarding
Definitions of Industrial Establishments and Light Industry in the Commercial C Zone
§2 ENACTMENT - Be it enacted by the town board of the Town of Danby as follows:
§3 - The TOWN OF DANBY hereby amends Local Law #1 of 2022 Section 606-3.c
PERMITTED PRINCIPAL USES IN A COMMERCIAL ZONE "C" UPON APPROVAL OF
THE SITE PLAN to add:
xiii) Light Industry
§4 The TOWN OF DANBY hereby amends Local Law #1 of 2022 APPENDIX I-
DEFINITIONS to remove the strike-through text below:
INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENT- shall mean any property or buildings used for Light
Industrial uses or operations, and shall be interpreted and construed to exclude any “heavy
industry” or high impact industrial uses or operations, including, but not limited to, and for the
purpose of providing examples only, smelting and ore refining processes, Natural Gas and/or
Petroleum Extraction, Natural Gas and/or Petroleum Exploration, large-scale meat or poultry
processing plants, coal or mineral processing or gasification operations, large-scale chemical and
pharmaceutical processing plants, largescale plastics or rubber manufacturing or extrusion
processes, and similar operations and businesses.
§5 EFFECTIVE DATE - This local law shall take effect immediately after it is filed as
provided in section twenty-seven of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
