Clerk of the county legislative body, City, Town or Village Clerk or officer designated by local legislative body (Seal)Date: 17 March 2022           Local Law No 2 of 2022     A Local Law authorizing a contract with a local food pantry to provide food to the   needy of the Town.     Section 1: Authority  This local law is enacted pursuant to the authority of Section 10 (l)(ii)(a)(12) of the  Municipal Home Rule Law authorizing Towns to adopt a local law pursuant to its  police powers authorizing the Town to sponsor a local food pantry, since it promotes  the health, safety and well-being of persons within the Town of Danby.     Section 2: Definitions  As used in this Local Law, the Local Food Pantry shall be the Danby Food Pantry or its  successor which provides food to the needy of the Town of Danby.     Section 3: Contract  The Town Supervisor of the Town of Danby is hereby empowered to enter into a  contract with the Danby Community Church on an annual basis to operate a Local  Food Pantry servicing the needy of the Town in whatever amount that the Town Board  has provided for this purpose in the annual town budget, which budget is subject to   limitations on indebtedness and taxation applying to the Town under State Law.     Section 4: Severability  If any provision of this Local Law is declared invalid by a Court of competent  jurisdiction, such declaration shall not affect or impair any other provision of this   Local Law and all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.    Section 5: Effective Date  This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the New York State   Secretary of State.       Mary Ann Barr 2021  T he Town of Danby, New York  1830 Danby Road, Ithaca, NY 14850  https://danby.ny.gov  Janice Adelman, Town Clerk  Cindy Katz, Deputy Town Clerk  +1-607-277-4788 | clerkoffice@danby.ny.gov   Town of Danby Local Law #2 of 2022   Vote Recorded on Wednesday 16 March 2022:  Councilperson  Aye  Nay   Absent  Connors  X     Hunter  X     Schnabel  X     Woodworth  X     Gagnon  X      Page  2 of  2
