HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-06-28 Fire District Meeting Minutes (Preliminary) PRELIMINARY MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING June 28, 2022 Commissioner Westmiller called the regular meeting to order at 7:13 p.m. ATTENDANCE: COMMISSIONERS: OFFICERS: Katherine Anderson Kevin Faehndrich (Absent) Joe Freedman Charlotte Griggs (Absent Wayne Westmiller Bonnie Hart, Treasurer Sharon Gaden, Secretary, Deputy Treasurer John Gaden, Danby Fire Chief Scott Wendt, West Danby Fire Chief (Absent) PUBLIC: None Minutes: Preliminary Minutes for June 14th regular meeting were approved and forwarded to the Town Clerk on June 23, 2022 Commissioner Freedman moved to approve the minutes of the June 14th regular meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Anderson. Motion carried 3 yes 0 no. Treasurer’s Report: • Audit has been completed. APPROVAL OF BILLS: Commissioner Westmiller moved to pay the vouchers as audited and approved on Operating Account Abstract 6 Claims C 146-152 in the total amount of $8,215.47. Motion seconded by Commissioner Anderson. Motion carried 3 yes 0 no. Communications: NONE Privilege of the Floor: CHIEF’S REPORTS: WDFC: NONE DVFC: (Chief Gaden) • Has ordered chief mobile radio for $3,085.00 and Admiral will build a console for it and install for up to $350.00 • Ordered 4 chargers; 4 headsets and 6 portables (what isn’t paid for by grant will be split between Danby and West Danby Equipment Accounts as previously discussed and approved) • Obtaining quotes for purchase of fire boots • 3 new prospective members • Food receipts for Saturday’s training have been submitted to Treasurer • Purchased a foot for UTV trailer at Tractor Supply $24.99 • Purchased a Knox box cover for Danby School location for $207.00 • S. Wyatt would like permission to take the EMT refresher class being taught October 28 through December 18 at the State Fire Academy in Montour Falls, cost is $35.00 Commissioner Westmiller made a motion to approve S. Wyatt to attend the EMT Refresher course at the State Fire Academy in Montour Falls from October 28 through December 18 at a cost of $35.00. Motion seconded by Commissioner Anderson. Motion carried 3 yes 0 no. Commissioner Freedman made a motion to approve the purchase of a chief’s portable radio through the Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response at the cost of $3,085.00 and for Admiral Specialty Vehicles to build and install a console at a cost not to exceed $350.00. Motion seconded by Commissioner Westmiller. Motion carried 3 yes 0 no. Commissioner Freedman made a motion to approve the purchase of a foot for the Danby UTV trailer at a cost of $24.99. Motion seconded by Commissioner Westmiller. Motion carried 3 yes 0 no. Commissioner Freedman made a motion to approve the purchase of a Knox Box cover for the Danby School at a cost of $207.00. Motion seconded by Westmiller. Motion carried 3 yes 0 no. COMMITTEES: PURCHASING: NONE BUILDING/GROUNDS: • Commissioner Faehndrich is seeking quotes for cleaning of the floors at the Danby station • Chief Gaden reported he is following up with contract on the painting of the Danby station. GRANTS: • Commissioner Anderson will send a Thank You note to Triad INSURANCE: NONE TECH: NONE TRUCKS: NONE TOWN BOARD: • Commissioner Freedman reported waiting to hearing from Town Bookkeeper regarding solar credits RECORDS: NONE POLICY: NONE MEMBERSHIP/TRAINING: • Physicals were completed 06/27/22 for the majority of the membership LONG RANGE PLAN: • Commissioner Freedman reported the committee and Chiefs will soon be meeting AUDIT: • Commissioner Freedman reported we have the final report. It will be filed with OSC and the Town Clerk. Publication of the Notice will be in the Ithaca Journal on July 1st. Commissioner Freedman made a motion to approve the final audit report received from Insero & Co. CPAs, LLP for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021. Motion seconded by Commissioner Westmiller. Motion carried 3 yes 0 no.
