SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MINUTES
June 17 , 1965
A special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of
Danby was held after a tour of the town roads with the
following Board members present : Supervisor Cortright ,
Justice Makarainen , Councilmen Barber and Makie . Justice
Peter arrived during the meeting which was called to
order by Supervisor Cortright at 8 : 45 P . M .
Purpose of the meeting was for studying plans and
cost estimates for swimming facilities at Jennings Pond .

Councilman Makie quoted the following average costs :
Earth - moving - $ 1300 . 00
Culverts - 5 12 - foot tanks needed - $ 25 . 00
Digging and moving tanks - $300 . 00
Beach - 400 cubic yards , 20 feet back
of present water line and
1 foot deep - $ 1 , 000 . 00
Gravel for Boat Launching Area - $60 . 00
Maintenace - $ 250 . 00
Liability Insurance - $ 140 . 00
Miscellaneous - $ 100 . 00
Lifeguard will be under direction of Danby
Commuflity Council .
Discussion followed whether to advertise for a
public hearing or go to the State Parks Commission . •
The majority of the Board agreed to approach the State
Parks Commission to see if they would grant the license
with approval of the plans submitted .
Meeting adjourned at 9 : 50 P . M .
