HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-06-05 71 Town Board Minutes Special Meeting June 5 , 2006 TOWN BOARD MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES JUNE 5, 2006 PRESENT : Supervisor Fredric Dietrich Councilpersons : Eugene Beavers , Norbert Norbert, Joseph Salino , Gladys Varona-Lacey Others Present : Carol Sczepanski - Town Clerk Code Enforcement Officer - Susan Beeners Highway Secretary - Tracy White Members of the Public : RESOLUTION NO. 57 OF JUNE 5, 2006 APPROVAL OF MODIFYING 2006 BUDGET RELATED TO HIGHWAY GARAGE CLASS V INJECTION WELL REMEDIATION PROJECT By Councilperson Beavers : Seconded by Councilperson Salino WHEREAS, the Town of Danby is continuing to move promptly to address the order received by the U . S . Environmental Protection Agency related to remediation of a Class V Injection Well at the Town Highway Garage located at 93 Hornbrook Road, Ithaca, New York; and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Danby by Resolution No . 48 of 2006 modified the 2006 Budget by creating a new appropriations line, A1442 .400, "Highway Remediation", and by transferring to that line from the General Fund Fund Balance the amount of $23 ,000 to be used for the current efforts related to remediation including but not limited to cleanup of the septic tank and oil separator; and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Danby on June 5 , 2006 reviewed a Cost Summary dated June 5 , 2006 showing work performed to date, along with the proposal from ERM for Leachfield subsurface investigation; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Danby hereby further modifies the 2006 Budget by transferring an additional amount of $28 , 014 from the General Fund Fund Balance to account A1442 . 400 . A roll call vote on the resolution resulted as follows : Beavers Aye Nolte Aye Salino Aye Varona-Lacey Aye Dietrich Aye Carried Unanimously RESOLUTION NO. 58 OF 2006 APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL BY EVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT FOR SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION, RELATED TO HIGHWAY GARAGE REMEDIATION PROJECT By Supervisor Dietrich : Seconded by Councilperson Beavers WHEREAS, Environmental Resources Management has submitted a proposal for subsurface investigation of the sewage treatment system area at the Danby Highway Garage, 93 Hornbrook Road, Ithaca, New York, at an estimated maximum probable cost of $ 18 , 897 . 00 ; and WHEREAS, the proposal is consistent with the proposed subsurface investigation described in the Class V Injection Well Remediation Plan submitted to the U. S . Environmental protection Agency; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS 72 > . 2 Town Board Minutes Special Meeting June 5 , 2006 RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Danby accepts said proposal, at an estimated probable cost of $ 18 , 897 . 00, to be paid from account A1442 .400 .
