TOWN BOARD AGENDA MEETING
FEBRUARY 4 , 2002

Supervisor Ric Dietrich called the meeting to order at 7 : 05 p.m. and introduced Doug Gillogly to the
Board . Doug is the spokesman for the Danby Community Park Committee .
Doug Gillogly addressed the Board with information on the proposed Danby Community Park. He
explained that on the draft plan the location of the driveway is a major concern and there are other
sites for the driveway to be considered . The NYS Department of Transportation will be consulted
before a drive is in place . NYS Department of Conservation is going to set up the wet lands
boundaries on the property. Doug explained that the plans for the property are not complete at this
time and/answered questions from the Board and public .
Agenda Meeting :
Councilperson Strichartz announced that the Town Board and the Planning Board are planning a
brunch to be held on February 17 or March 3 at the home of Sarah Newman.
Proposed Agenda Items :
1 . Resolution No . 24 - tabled resolution - Authorization of Funds for Highway Department For
Purchase of Equipment in Excess of $ 2 , 500 .
2 . Resolution - Recommendation for appointment of John Smith to the Tompkins County Fire
District & EMS Board
3 . Authorization for the Town Supervisor and the Deputy Town Supervisor to sign checks at
the Tompkins Trust Company for the Town of Danby .
4 . Authorization for Transfer of funds for Independent Wireless One Escrow Account.
5 . Discussion- Summary of Planning Board Recommendations related to Regulation of Public
Utilities -memo was presented in December, postponed to January but not discussed .

Salt Shed Discussion
The application for the Salt Shed Grant has been sent . If the grant is awarded the Town can turn
down the grant or can build a smaller salt shed .
Additions to the Agenda
Discussion - Proposal for a Farmers Market.
Authorization for Code Enforcement Officer and Town Supervisor to consult with Town Attorney
regarding legal questions .
Payment for Harriet Adams :
Supervisor Dietrich reported that Harriet Adams has been helping him organize his office and
assisting the bookkeeper. He has presented a voucher for payment that the Board did not pay . He
would like the board to approve payment for her services . She has not been given a title at this time .
The board did approve the voucher for January services .
