2. CONNECT TO EXISTING GAS DETECTION SYSTEM.
ALARMS
1. THE FOLLOWING SHALL INITIATE SPECIFIC ALARM NOTICES AT THE BAS:
a. CABINET SENSOR DETECTS GAS LEVELS ABOVE ACCEPTABLE LEVELS.
AIRFLOW CONTROL
1. EXHAUST AIRFLOW SHALL NORMALLY BE CONSTANT VOLUME IF GAS DETECTION SYSTEM INDICATES UNACCEPTABLE LEVELS
OF CONCENTRATION, AIRFLOW SHALL INCREASE TO PURGE AIRFLOW RATE DICTATED BY CABINET MANUFACTURER..
GENERAL
1. HEATING SYSTEM SHALL BE OPERATIONAL 24 HOURS PER DAY, 7 DAYS PER WEEK.
2. REFER TO SEQUENCE OF OPERATION - GENERAL, CONTROL SYSTEM NOTES AND SEQUENCE OF OPERATION - STANDBY POWER ON CONTROLS LEGEND
SHEET M8.01 FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.
3. EXISTING RE-HEAT LOOP IS BEING MODIFIED TO ADD CAPACITY FOR THIS PROJECT. EXISTING LOOP HAS 1 HEAT EXCHANGER AND 1 PUMP. THIS PROJECT
IS ADDING 1 HEAT EXCHANGER AND 1 PUMP. ASSOCIATED CONTROL POINTS FOR NEW EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED. EXISTING TO REMAIN
COMPONENTS ARE LISTED.
SAFETIES
1. THE FOLLOWING SAFETIES, EACH WITH INDIVIDUAL MANUAL RESETS, SHALL SHUT DOWN EXHAUST FAN(S) AND INITIATE A SPECIFIC ALARM NOTICE AT
THE BAS:
a. DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE AT PDT-01 INDICATES PUMP IS IN DEADHEAD CONDITION. DEADHEAD SETPOINT SHALL BE DETERMINED FROM APPROVED
SHOP DRAWING PUMP CURVE.
ALARMS
1. THE FOLLOWING SHALL INITIATE SPECIFIC ALARM NOTICES AT THE BAS ONLY WHEN THE UNIT IS STATUS ON:
a. ANY PUMP IS COMMANDED TO RUN AND THE BAS SENSES NO STATUS AT CURRENT TRANSMITTER CONTINUOUSLY FOR 10 SECONDS.
b. SUPPLY HOT WATER IS AT LEAST 10°F ABOVE OR BELOW SETPOINT CONTINUOUSLY FOR 30 SECONDS.
ACTIVE/STANDBY DESIGNATION
1. EVERY WEEK, THE BAS WILL SWITCH THE STANDBY/ACTIVE HEAT EXCHANGER DESIGNATIONS AND THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR:
a. NEWLY ACTIVE HEAT EXCHANGER HOT WATER ISOLATION VALVE SHALL FULLY OPEN.
b. AFTER HOT WATER VALVE IS OPEN, NEWLY ACTIVE HEAT EXCHANGER STEAM CONTROL VALVES SHALL MODULATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
TEMPERATURE CONTROL PARAGRAPH BELOW.
c. AFTER A 30 SECOND DELAY, PREVIOUSLY ACTIVE HEAT EXCHANGER STEAM CONTROL VALVES AND HOT WATER ISOLATION VALVE SHALL FULLY
CLOSE.
2. EVERY WEEK, THE BAS WILL SWITCH THE STANDBY/ACTIVE PUMP DESIGNATIONS.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
1. EXISTING SUPPLY TEMPERATURE CONTROL SHALL REMAIN. MODIFICATIONS SHALL ONLY BE DONE TO ADD NEW COMPONENTS TO SYSTEM WITHOUT
EFFECTING SYSTEM PERFORMANCE.
2. IF TEMPERATURE IS BELOW SETPOINT AND STEAM CONTROL VALVE IS FULLY OPEN ON ACTIVE HEAT EXCHANGERS, BOTH HEAT EXCHANGERS SHALL
OPERATE TO MAINTAIN HYDRONIC TEMPERATURE.
PUMP SPEED CONTROL
1. ACTIVE PUMP VFD SHALL MODULATE TO MAINTAIN STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT AT EXISTING SENSOR.
2. THE INITIAL DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SETPOINT SHALL BE 15 PSI. THIS VALUE SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO THE REQUIRED SETPOINT TO ACHIEVE THE
PROPER FLOW RATE AS DETERMINED DURING BALANCING.
3. IF VFD OF OPERATING PUMP IS AT MAXIMUM SPEED AND PRESSURE SETPOINT IS NOT MAINTAINED, BOTH PUMPS SHALL RUN TO MAINTAIN SYSTEM
PRESSURE.
