NECESSARY PROVISIONS FOR TEMPORARY CIRCUITING CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING DEVICES ANDAPPLIANCES TO REMAIN IN SERVICE.D. PROVISIONS FOR TEMPORARY FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SUCH AS LINEAR HEAT DETECTION.2. COORDINATE IMPAIRMENT PLAN WITH THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR INCORPORATION INTO THE NFPA 241 FIRESAFETY PROGRAM PREPARED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.3. FIRE ALARM SYSTEM OUTSIDE OF WORK AREA: INITIATING DEVICES, OUTPUT FUNCTIONS, AND NOTIFICATIONAPPLIANCES IN AREAS ADJACENT TO THE WORK AREA MUST REMAIN IN SERVICE THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OFCONSTRUCTION. PROVIDE TEMPORARY CIRCUIT CONNECTIONS AS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN SERVICE UNTIL NEWCIRCUITS ARE COMPLETED.4. FIRE ALARM SYSTEM WITHIN WORK AREA: PROTECT EXISTING FIRE ALARM EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, AND APPLIANCESTO REMAIN IN SERVICE WITHIN THE WORK AREA FROM CONSTRUCTION RELATED LIQUIDS, DEBRIS, AND DUSTINFILTRATION. REPLACE WITH NEW EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, OR APPLIANCES THAT ARE CONTACTED BYCONSTRUCTION RELATED LIQUIDS, DEBRIS, DUST OR SIMILAR.5. FIRE ALARM PULL BOXES WITHIN WORK AREA: MAINTAIN MANUAL PULL BOXES AT EXITS WITHIN WORK AREA.REPLACE PULL BOXES WITH NEW AT THE CONCLUSION OF CONSTRUCTION.7. SMOKE AND HEAT DETECTORS WITHIN WORK AREA: PROTECT EXISTING DETECTORS TO REMAIN IN SERVICE WITHINWORK AREA FROM DUST & DEBRIS THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF CONSTRUCTION.8. FIRE ALARM NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES WITHIN WORK AREA: MAINTAIN NOMINAL AUDIBLE AND VISIBLE SIGNALINGWITHIN THE WORK AREA. AT A MINIMUM, LOCATE COMBINATION SPEAKER / STROBE APPLIANCES AT EACH EXITFROM THE WORK AREA.9. FIRE ALARM INTERFACE MODULES WITHIN WORK AREA: MAINTAIN THE OPERATION OF EXISTING INPUT AND OUTPUTINTERFACE MODULES TO EXISTING EQUIPMENT REMAINING IN SERVICE THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OFCONSTRUCTION.FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IMPAIRMENTS1. PROVIDE TEMPORARY FIXED-TEMPERATURE HEAT DETECTION IN WORK AREAS WHERE THE SPRINKLER SYSTEMWILL BE IMPAIRED FOR LONGER THAN ONE (1) WORKING DAY OR AS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY THE AUTHORITYHAVING JURISDICTION (AHJ). COORDINATE REQUIREMENTS FOR TEMPORARY HEAT DETECTION WITH DIVISION 21WORK.2. FIXED-TEMPERATURE RATING: 190°F.3. SPACING: SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 72 AND MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.4. SUPERVISION: HEAT DETECTION SHALL BE SUPERVISED BY THE BUILDING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM. ACTIVATION OF THEHEAT DETECTION SHALL INITIATE THE BUILDING ALARM SEQUENCE OF OPERATION.5. TEMPORARY HEAT DETECTION SHALL BE TESTED WITH CORNELL EHS AND IFD PRIOR SPRINKLER SYSTEMIMPAIRMENTS.TEMPORARY HEAT DETECTION1. SYSTEM VENDOR SHALL CONFIRM CAPACITY OF EXISTING CIRCUITS / POWER SUPPLIES / AMPLIFIERS IS NOTEXCEEDED BY ADDITION OF NEW NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES VIA VOLTAGE DROP, DB LOSS, AND BATTERYCALCULATIONS OUTLINED IN PROJECT SPECIFICATION.2. WHERE SPACE CAPACITY IS NOT AVAILABLE, PROVIDE NEW CIRCUITS / EQUIPMENT.3. INSTALLING CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE LOCATION OF NEW FIRE ALARM EQUIPMENT IN FIELD AND SHALLPROVIDE NEW DEDICATED 120VAC BRANCH CIRCUITS AS REQUIRED.4. UNLESS NOTED AS PERMISSIBLE FOR FAIL-SAFE CONTROL CIRCUITS, ADDRESSABLE RELAY MODULES SHALL BELOCATED WITHIN 3 FEET OF THE ASSOCIATED DEVICE OR CIRCUIT BEING CONTROLLED.7. PRIMARY POWER SUPPLY SHALL BE FROM A SEPARATE FUSED CIRCUIT FREE FROM GROUND FAULTS, SHORTS,OPENS, STRAY OR INDUCED VOLTAGE FAULTS, ETC. EACH BREAKER SHALL BE LOCKABLE AND IDENTIFIED AT BOTHTHE POWER PANEL AND THE FACU.8. POWER LIMITED CIRCUITS SHALL NOT BE RUN IN THE SAME RACEWAY AS NON-POWER LIMITED CIRCUITS.1. DIVISION 28 WORK INCLUDES WIRING AND TERMINATIONS FROM INTERFACE MODULES TO ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENTTERMINALS.5. COORDINATE VOLTAGE REQUIREMENTS OF CONTROLLED EQUIPMENT WITH THE RATINGS OF THE ASSOCIATED FIREALARM INTERFACE MODULE. PROVIDE INTERPOSING RELAYS WHERE INDICATED OR OTHERWISE REQUIRED.6. MAKE REASONABLE AND NECESSARY MODIFICATIONS IN LAYOUTS AND COMPONENTS NEEDED TO PREVENTCONFLICT WITH WORK OF OTHER TRADES AND TO COORDINATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS.7. ALL COMPONENTS ARE NEW UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED AS EXISTING.8. MAINTAIN MAXIMUM HEADROOM AT ALL LOCATIONS. ALL CONDUIT TO BE AS TIGHT TO UNDERSIDE OF DECK ASPOSSIBLE. ALL EXPOSED CONDUIT SHALL BE APPROVED BY ARCHITECT AND SHALL MAINTAIN REQUIREDCLEARANCES.9. SYSTEMS SHALL RUN IN A RECTILINEAR FASHION.10. MAINTAIN COMPLETE AND SEPARATE SET OF INSTALLATION DRAWINGS ON SITE AT ALL TIMES. RECORD WORKCOMPLETED AND ALL MODIFICATIONS CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY.11. ALL SYSTEM COMPONENTS SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA REQUIREMENTS AND BE FM APPROVED AND UL-LISTED, ANDSHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH LISTING REQUIREMENTS.12. PROVIDE IDENTIFICATION AT ALL DEVICES, APPLIANCES, MODULES, AND CABINET ENCLOSURES.13. PROVIDE THROUGH PENETRATION FIRESTOP ASSEMBLIES AT ALL PENETRATIONS OF SMOKE AND/OR FIRE RATEDFLOORS AND WALLS IN ACCORDANCE WITH BUILDING CODE AND SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.14. WHEN THE WORK IS NEARING COMPLETION, THE FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR'S PROJECT EXECUTIVE OR HIS/HERDESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE SHALL PHYSICALLY WALK DOWN THE INSTALLATION, EXAMINING IT IN DETAIL, ANDPREPARE A PUNCH LIST CONTAINING AN ITEMIZATION OF WORK REMAINING FOR 100% COMPLETION. SUBMIT THIS TOTHE ENGINEER WHO WILL THEN INSPECT THE WORK AND PREPARE THE ENGINEER'S PROJECT VISIT REPORT.1. THE DESIGN CONTENT OF THESE DRAWINGS IS INTENDED TO SATISFY THE STATE BUILDING CODE REQUIREMENTSFOR CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS . WHEN STAMPED AND SEALED BY THE ENGINEER OF RECORD THEY AREINTENDED TO BE USED AS PART OF THE BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION ONLY.2.
