MUDD FIRST FLOOR FACILITIES CONTRACTS LABORATORY RENOVATIONS 121 HUMPHREYS SERVICE BUILDING ITHACA, NEW YORK 14853-3701 ADDENDUM NO. 01 April 9, 2021 This Addendum contains changes to the requirements of the Contract Documents and Specifications. Such changes are to be incorporated into the Construction Documents and shall apply to the work with the same meaning and force as if they had been included in the original document. Wherever this Addendum modifies a portion of a paragraph of the specifications or a portion of any Drawing, the remainder of the Paragraph or Drawing shall remain in force. NOTE: Provisions of all Contract Documents apply. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS Item 1. INS-5, Item 14.c. DELETE “…Bid Proposals shall be submitted through the eBuilder Bid Portal no later than 3:00 PM on April 15, 2021.” REPLACE with “…Bid Proposals shall be submitted through the eBuilder Bid Portal no later than 3:00 PM on April 20, 2021.” DRAWINGS Item 2. Drawing A-101, A-101 Demolition, Note 0A DELETE in its entirety. REPLACE with: GENERAL: HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ARE EXPECTED. OWNER WILL PERFORM REMOVAL OF ASBESTOS AND PCB CONTAINING MATERIAL AS WELL AS REMOVAL OF ALL LABORATORY BASE CABINETRY AND FUME HOODS IN ORDER TO PERFORM ABATEMENT. Drawing A-101, A-101 Renovation, Note 11 DELETE in its entirety. REPLACE with: STEEL SHELVING UNITS. PROVIDE NUMBER OF STANDARDS PER ROOM AS SHOWN WITH DOTS ON THE WALLS THAT NOTE 11 POINTS TO. PROVIDE (2) SHELF BRACKETS AND (2) STEEL SHELVES (32" WIDE, 12" DEEP +/-) PER ROOM. APPLICABLE ONLY TO NORTH OF THE CORRIDOR. ALL COMPONENTS ZINC PLATED, PAINTED WHITE. BASIS OF DESIGN: MCMASTER-CARR, SINGLE-SLOTTED STANDARDS: 48” LONG, #1752A9; BRACKETS: 12”, #1752A73; SHELVES: 32”, #2129A13. OR APPROVED EQUAL. Item 4. Drawing A-101, A-101 Renovation Note, 12 DELETE in its entirety. REPLACE with: IN HOLDING ROOMS, USE FIBERROCK AQUA-TOUGH ON WALLS (5/8” THICK ON NEW PARTITIONS, AND LAMINATED TO EXISTING WALL SURFACES), AND SUSPENDED CEILING CONSTRUCTION (1/2” THICK), AND SANITARY MILDEW RESISTANT SILICONE SEALANT "PECORA 898” Item 5. Drawing A-101, A-101 Renovation, Note 13 DELETE in its entirety. REPLACE with: IN EACH BEHAVIOR ROOM, FURNISH AND INSTALL RAILS AS SHOWN AND SO THAT BOTTOM OF RAIL IS FLUSH WITH BOTTOM OF ADJACENT ACOUSTICAL CEILING PANEL. BASIS-OF DESIGN PRODUCT: "8020.NET, ALUMINUM T-SLOTS, SQUARE 1010.” FASTEN TO DECK ABOVE WITH APPROPRIATE 8020.NET ACCESSORIES LIKE HANGER EXTRUSIONS AND FLOOR MOUNT BASE PLATES. FURNISH TWO ADDITIONAL 1010 PROFILE AT 7-FOOT LENGTHS AND APPROPRIATE FASTENERS TO CONNECT THESE ADDITIONAL ITEMS PERPENDICULAR TO RAILS AT FLEXIBLE LOCATIONS. SMALL, LIGHT-WEIGHT CAMERAS WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM THIS SYSTEM. Item 6. Drawing A-103, Detail 5. Interior Elevation – W156 West ADD the following note to both base cabinets with doors: “Doors to be lockable.” Seeley G. Please clarify the bid date.See Addendum 1, Item 1. 5 A-101 A-101 Reno Note 12 Renovation Note 12/A-101 says to use Fiberrock Aqua- Tough on Walls and Ceilings. Is this also to be adhered to existing walls? Are 1/2" or 5/8" panels to be used? See Addendum 1, Item 4.
