WHERE THE WORDS "OR APPROVED EQUAL" APPEARTHE "EQUAL" ITEM MUST CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SPECIFICATIONS AND MUST BESUBMITTED WITH COMPLETE INFORMATION TO THE ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL. IT IS IMPORTANTTO NOTE THAT ALL COSTS OF ADDITIONAL WORK REQUIRED OF OTHER TRADES CAUSED BY ASUBSTITUTION OF EQUIPMENT AND/OR MATERIALS SHALL BE BORNE BY THE CONTRACTOR.D.FOR FURTHER DETAILS OF THE INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS, REFER TO THE FIXTURE PLANS,REFRIGERATION SCHEDULES, FLOOR PLANS, PLUMBING PLANS, ELECTRIC PLANS, AIRCONDITIONING, HEATING AND VENTILATION PLANS, MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSAND ALL APPLICABLE CODES AND ORDINANCES.E.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL REQUIRED COMPONENTS AND ACCESSORIESNECESSARY TO FACILITATE A COMPLETE INSTALLATION, INCLUDING ALL LABOR REQUIRED TOCOMPLETE THE INSTALLATION AND PERFORM THE SERVICE COVERED BY THIS SPECIFICATION. THECONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR UNLOADING, ASSEMBLING, AND INSTALLING ALL HVACEQUIPMENT AND RELATED ITEMS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.F.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF WITH THE PROJECT AND SHALL COOPERATE WITHOTHER CONTRACTORS DOING WORK IN THE BUILDING. IF ANY CONFLICT, INTERFERENCE ORDISCREPANCIES COME TO THE ATTENTION OF THE CONTRACTOR, HE SHALL NOTIFY THE OWNERIMMEDIATELY, BEFORE PROCEEDING ANY FURTHER WITH THE INSTALLATION.G.NO ADDITIONAL PAYMENT OVER AND ABOVE THE CONTRACT PRICE WILL BE MADE UNLESS THECONTRACTOR RECEIVES A WRITTEN ORDER BY THE OWNER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE FOR THEADDITIONAL WORK.H.PRIOR TO SUBMITTING THE PROPOSALS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EXAMINE ALL DRAWINGS,SPECIFICATIONS, AND OTHER AVAILABLE ESTIMATING DATA, AND SHALL BECOME FULLY INFORMEDAS TO THE EXTENT AND CHARACTER OF THE WORK REQUIRED, AND IT'S RELATION TO THE OTHERWORK IN THIS PROJECT. NO CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY ALLEGEDMISUNDERSTANDING OF THE MATERIALS TO BE FURNISHED OR WORK TO BE DONE; IT SHALL BECLEARLY UNDERSTOOD THAT THE SUBMISSION OF A PROPOSAL INDICATES A COMPLETEUNDERSTANDING OF AND AGREEMENT TO ALL THE ITEMS AND CONDITIONS SPECIFIED HEREIN, ORINDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS.I.PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE COMPLEMENTARY TO EACH OTHER, ANY DISCREPANCIESINDICATED ON DIFFERENT DRAWINGS, OR BETWEEN DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS, ORBETWEEN DRAWINGS AND ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS, OR ERRORS SHOWN ON EITHER DRAWINGSOR SPECIFICATIONS SHALL BE PROMPTLY BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF OWNER FOR DECISIONPRIOR TO BID SUBMISSION.DESIGN CONDITIONSA.OUTDOOR DESIGN CONDITIONS ARE TO CONFORM TO VALUES FOR THE SPECIFIC LOCATION ASOUTLINED IN ENERGY CODES.B.INDOOR DESIGN TEMPERATURES SHALL REMAIN AT 74 DEG. F COOLING AND 68 DEG. F HEATING.ALL OTHER HEATED AND COOLED AREAS ARE TO REMAIN 70 DEG. F. HEATING AND 78 DEG. F.COOLING DURING OCCUPIED HOURS AT PUBLISHED OUTDOOR CONDITIONS. UNOCCUPIEDREQUIREMENTS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOVERNING CODE SETBACK REQUIREMENTS.C.INDOOR DESIGN RELATIVE HUMIDITY SHALL NOT EXCEED 30 PERCENT FOR HEATING. THE ACTUALDESIGN RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR COOLING SHALL BE WITHIN THE COMFORT ENVELOPE AS DEFINEDIN ASHRAE 55, LISTED IN APPENDIX A, AND SELECTED FOR THE MINIMUM SYSTEM ENERGY USE FORAIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATION AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OPERATING REQUIREMENTSOF THE REFRIGERATED DISPLAY FIXTURES, WHICH SHALL NOT EXCEED 55% RH.SCOPE OF WORKA.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, RIGGING, APPLIANCES,TOOLS AND ACCESSORIES REQUIRED TO PROVIDE, INSTALL, CONNECT, AND TEST THE COMPLETEHEATING, VENTILATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT INACCORDANCE WITH THESE SPECIFICATIONS AND THE APPLICABLE DRAWINGS.B.THE HVAC CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE ALL NECESSARY NOTICES, OBTAIN ALL PERMITS AND PAY ALLTAXES, FEES AND OTHER COSTS IN CONNECTION WITH HIS WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FILEALL NECESSARY APPROVALS OF ALL DEPARTMENTS HAVING JURISDICTION, AND OBTAIN ALLREQUIRED CERTIFICATES OF INSPECTION FOR HIS WORK AND DELIVER SAME TO THE ARCHITECTBEFORE REQUEST FOR ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT FOR THE WORK. THE CONTRACTORSHALL INCLUDE IN HIS SCOPE OF WORK, WITHOUT EXTRA COST TO THE OWNER, ALL LABOR,MATERIALS, SERVICES, APPARATUS, DRAWINGS (IN ADDITION TO CONTRACT DRAWINGS ANDDOCUMENTS), IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES, LAWS, ORDINANCES, RULESAND REGULATIONS. ALL MATERIALS FURNISHED AND ALL WORK INSTALLED SHALL BE IN STRICTACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE OWNER AND ALL APPLICABLE CODES ANDREGULATIONS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE LATEST APPLICABLE EDITIONS OF THE ASHRAEGUIDE AND DATA BOOK, UL, ASME, NEMA, IBR, AMCA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, OSHA, SMACNA, STATEBUILDING CODE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO ENSURE THAT ALLHVAC WORK IS PROVIDED AND INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH SEISMIC RESTRAINTREQUIREMENTS. SCOPE OF WORK SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:·EXHAUST FAN·SHEET METAL WORK AND INSULATION·AIR DEVICES INCLUDING DIFFUSERS, REGISTERS AND GRILLES·SYSTEM TEST AND BALANCE·WARRANTY FOR ONE YEARCONTRACT DRAWINGSA.THE DRAWINGS ARE INTENDED TO SHOW THE GENERAL ARRANGEMENT AND THE EXTENT OF THEWORK TO BE DONE, HOWEVER, THE EXACT LOCATION AND ARRANGEMENT OF ALL PARTS SHALL BEDETERMINED AS THE WORK PROGRESSES.B.THE LOCATIONS OF ALL PIPING, DUCTS AND EQUIPMENT AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS AREAPPROXIMATELY CORRECT, BUT THEY ARE SUBJECT TO SUCH MODIFICATIONS AS MAY BENECESSARY AT THE TIME OF INSTALLATION TO MEET ANY CONDITIONS. MUST BESUBMITTED TO OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE FOR FINAL REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TOPURCHASING, FABRICATING OR INSTALLING ANY PORTION OF THE HVAC CONTRACT.B.SHOP DRAWINGS MUST SHOW ALL HVAC COMPONENTS WITH DUCTWORK DRAWN IN DOUBLE LINE,AT A SCALE OF 1/4" = 1'-0". THESE DRAWINGS MUST BE FULLY DETAILED, DIMENSIONED ANDCOORDINATED, INDICATING ALL OTHER TRADES AND DISCIPLINES.C.FURNISH TO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER FOR REVIEW, SIX(6) COPIES OF SUCH EQUIPMENTSUBMITTALS AND SETTING DRAWINGS OR DIAGRAMS AS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE PROPEREXECUTION OF THE WORK. PROVIDE TWO(2) SETS OF DRAWINGS FOR ALL SHEET METAL WORK TOOWNER FOR USE IN REVIEW PROCESS.D.CONTRACTORS MAY MAKE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO SUIT CONDITIONS AND IN ORDER TOCOMPLY WITH THE GUARANTEE OF PERFORMANCE OF THE SYSTEMS. SHALL BE INCLUDED ONSHOP DRAWINGS OR IF SUBMITTED SEPARATELY, SIX COPIES SHALL BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO ANYINSTALLATION OF THE HVAC CONTRACT.G.CONTRACTOR IS TO SUBMIT ACCURATE AS BUILT SHOP DRAWINGS REFLECTING ALL CHANGES TOENGINEER AND OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO REQUEST FOR FINAL PAYMENT.DETAILS OF EQUIPMENTA.SUBMIT FOR APPROVAL SIX(6) COPIES OF THE MANUFACTURER'S DETAILED CERTIFIEDDIMENSIONAL DRAWINGS OF ALL EQUIPMENT.SUBSTITUTIONSA.AS NOTED ON THE PLANS AND DESCRIBED ON THE SCHEDULES, SUBSTITUTIONS MUST SATISFY ALLREQUIREMENTS AND MUST BE APPROVED BY THE OWNERMATERIALS AND LABORA.ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE NEW AND MUST MEET THE STANDARDS AS STIPULATED IN THE LATESTEDITION OF ASHRAE GUIDE AND DATA BOOK.B. HE SHALL SUBCONTRACT THE CONTROLS INSTALLATION TO ALICENSED ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR WHERE REQUIRED AND PROVIDE CONTROL COMPONENTSAND WIRING DIAGRAMS FOR ALL HVAC EQUIPMENT TO INSTALLING CONTRACTOR.B.THE DELIVERY OF ALL CONTROL COMPONENTS SHALL BE SCHEDULED SO AS NOT TO DELAY THEPROJECT.C.FUSED DISCONNECT SWITCHES WHERE REQUIRED, WILL BE FURNISHED BY THE HVACCONTRACTOR UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED TO BE SUPPLIED BY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR.WEATHERPROOF FUSED DISCONNECTS SHALL BE FURNISHED FOR ALL OUTDOOR AND WET,INDOOR APPLICATIONS.D.HVAC CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MOTOR STARTERS AS FOLLOWS: MOTORS 1/2 HP ANDLARGER SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH COMBINATION UNFUSED LINE SWITCH AND CROSS-THE-LINEMAGNETIC STARTERS WITH START-STOP PUSH BUTTONS AND PILOT LIGHTS UNLESS AUTOMATICCONTROL IS REQUIRED. IN THIS CASE, STARTERS ARE TO BE PROVIDED WITH H.O.A. SELECTORSWITCH AND CONTROL TRANSFORMER. ALL MOTORS BELOW 1/2 HP WHICH ARE NOTAUTOMATICALLY CONTROLLED SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH MANUALLY OPERATED STARTERS. ALLSTARTERS SHALL BE BUILT AND RATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEMA AND AIEE STANDARDS. ALLSTARTERS TO INCLUDE THERMAL OVERLOAD RELAYS AND HEATERS PROPERLY SIZED TO PROTECTMOTOR. ALL POLY-PHASE MOTORS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH PHASE PROTECTION.E.THE CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY ALL ELECTRICAL POWER ON JOB SITE PRIOR TO ORDERING NEWEQUIPMENT.F.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL SMOKE DETECTORS FOR EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN TOCOMPLY TO THE LATEST STATE & NFPA 90A CODES.LABELINGA.ALL CONTROL DEVICES SHALL BE CLEARLY LABELED WITH PLASTIC NAME PLATES WITH NUMBERSAND LETTERS NO LESS THAN 3/8" IN HEIGHT. A FRAMED PERMANENT OPERATING WIRING DIAGRAMSHALL BE LOCATED NEAR EACH SYSTEM SO THAT OPERATION OF THAT SYSTEM IS READILYAVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES. INTERNAL WIRING DIAGRAM OF INDIVIDUAL RELAYS, SHALL ALL BELOCATED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE BOXES.SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTSA.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM HIS WORK IN THE BUILDING WHEN AND AS DIRECTED, ANDGENERALLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THEBUILDING, SO AS TO CAUSE THE LEAST POSSIBLE INCONVENIENCE AND DISTURBANCE TO THEOTHER TRADES, OWNER AND OCCUPANTS.B.CONSULT WITH THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION PRIOR TOSUBMITTING BID. INCLUDE PITCH COLLARS AROUND ALL OPENINGS WHICH DO NOT HAVE CURBS. ALLCURBS TO SET ON ROOF STEEL, NOT DECKING AND ALL EQUIPMENT TO BE SET LEVEL. THECONTRACTORS SHALL PROVIDE TAPERED CURBS AS REQUIRED.C.FLASHINGS AND CURB WORK SHALL ALL BE INSTALLED IN COORDINATION WITH THE WORK OF THEROOFING AND GENERAL CONTRACTORS.FIRE RATED CONSTRUCTIONA.IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY FROM THE ARCHITECTURAL PLANS,AREAS IN THE BUILDING WHICH HAVE BEEN DESIGNATED AS HAVING A FIRE RATING AND PROVIDEAND INSTALL THE NECESSARY FIRE DAMPERS WITH ACCESS DOORS.
