Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. Provide labor, materials, equipment, and services to perform operations required for the complete installation and related Work as required in Contract Documents. 1.3 ACTION SUBMITTALS A. Relays, timers, and contactors. B. Ceiling fans. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 CONTACTORS, RELAYS, AND TIMERS A. Provide for control of circuits as called for. B. Provide cabinet type enclosures of same type as electric panels. C. Provide number of poles, voltage, amperage as called for, and as required for system whichever is greater. D. Make: (Mechanically-held contacts on lighting control circuits) 1. General Electric 2. Square D 3. Furnas Electric 2.2 TIME SWITCH CONTROL A. Lighting Control Panels LCP’s to be provided in modular panelboards line up. Remote Lighting Control Panel (LCPGEM & LCPPPGSO) shall be controlled through the Building control system, furnished and shipped loose, and installed by Contractor. C. Remote lighting contactors, as called for, shall be controlled through the building control system, furnished and shipped loose, and installed by Contractor. 2.3 LIGHT LOSS SENSOR, DAYLIGHT SENSORS A. Refer to specification 230923 “Direct-Digital Control System for HVAC.” 2.4 COOLER/FREEZER AND REFRIGERATION CASE SEALANT A. Butyl Sealant to be used on all panel to panel joints, including all wall and ceiling panels. The sealant is to be a continuous 3/8 inch bead on the warm side (exterior face) of the key way. A continuous bead of butyl sealant to also to be used between the concrete or thermal break and plastic or wood screed. If the plastic shoe base is used, a second bead of butyl sealant is to be used in the shoe between the plastic shoe and wood screed. 1. High solids, non-skinning, non-drying, synthetic butyl elastomer sealant. Color shall be black, bronze, gray, or off-white. 2. Products: a. Tremco: Trempro JS-773. b. Sika: Sikalastomer 511. c. Or approved equal. B. Foam to be used to fill any gaps made from miscellaneous penetrations through the cooler/freezer box. Foam to also be used to fill any gaps underneath panels due to shimming. 1. Single component urethane foam. Excessively closed cell foam approximately 80%. Low expansion. Temperature stability of cured foam -40 deg F to +176 deg F. Class 1 fire rating. Thermal resistance R-6.0 / inch. USDA approved. 2. Products: a. Pur Fill 1G. b. Or approved equal. C. Sealant – general purpose Polyurethane sealant. 1. One component 1c polyurethane sealant non-sag. Color to be white. Service temperature of -40 deg F to +194 deg F. Low odor. Non-corrosive. Bonds well to a variety of substrates. NSF FDA approved for incidental food contact. 2. Sealant – general purpose Silicone sealant. 1. One component silicone sealant non-sag. Color to be white. Service temperature of -76 deg F to +356 deg F. Bonds well to a variety of substrates. NSF FDA approved for incidental food contact. 2. Products: a. Dow Corning 732 Multi-Purpose Sealant. 2.5 REFRIGERATED DISPLAY CASES (Medium and Low Temp) A. Foam to be used to fill any gaps made from miscellaneous penetrations within all medium and low temperature refrigerated display cases. 1. Single component urethane foam. Excessively closed cell foam approximately 80%. Low expansion. Temperature stability of cured foam -40 deg F to +176 deg F. Class 1 fire rating. Thermal resistance R-6.0 / inch. USDA approved. 2. Products: a. Pur Fill 1G. b. Or approved equal. B. Sealant - general purpose Polyurethane sealant. 1. One component 1c polyurethane sealant non-sag. Color to be white. Service temperature - 40 deg F to 194 deg F. Low odor. Non-corrosive. Bonds well to a variety of substrates. NSF FDA approved for incidental food contact. 2. Products: a. Sikaflex 221. 2.6 CEILING FANS A. Covered Outdoor Patio: 1. Three (3) blade, 52” diameter fan. 2. Seven speed EC motor with digital inverter drive. 3. Glass infused matrix composite construction. 4. Carmel airfoil (blade) with Oil-Rubbed Bronze hardware. 5. Max 0.36A, 30W power. 6. Provide with optional wireless wall control. Provide with ceiling fan rated junction box suitable for installation on a sloped ceiling. 9. Make: a. Big Ass Fans Haiku 52. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 TIME SWITCH CONTROL A. Lighting Control Panels LCP’s to be pre-wired in modular panelboards as shown on Contract Drawings. Contractor to provide final termination of designated lighting circuits into LCP panels. B. Remote Lighting Control Panels (LCPGEM and LCPPPGSO) to be pre-wired as shown on Contract Drawings and shipped loose. Contractor to provide final termination of designated lighting circuits into each LCP panel. Interconnect to the building control system to be by Contractor. 3.2 CIRCUITING A. Lighting, Receptacle, and Special Circuits: 1. Lighting circuits: Provide lighting arrangement as called for. 2. Receptacle circuits: Provide convenience outlets as called for. 3. Special receptacle circuits: Provide as called for. Provide separate green conductor for grounding receptacles to panel ground bus. 4. Exit and emergency lighting circuits: Install in separate conduit system and circuit as called for. 5. Fire alarm circuits: Install in separate conduit system; coordinate requirements with special systems contractor. B. Communications: 1. Provide conduit, wireway, wire, terminations, etc., necessary to provide for functions called for. a. All wiring shall be installed in conduit unless otherwise called for. b. Cross-sectional area of wires installed in a conduit shall not exceed 40% of the cross-sectional area of the conduit. c. Refer to other sections for additional requirements. C. Provide all power wiring, install in conduit and make connections to disconnect switches, motor controllers, motor, and other items of electrical equipment as called for. b. Provide control wiring only as shown on the contract drawings called for, and install in conduit and make connections to motors, motor controllers, control devices, etc., including the mounting of all control devices furnished by others. c. Provide control devices and disconnect switches as called for. d. Verify exact location and rating of motors, controllers, control devices, etc., with other trades before roughing. e. Power and control wiring may be combined in common conduit by increasing conductor and/or conduit sizes as required by code. 2. Wiring diagrams: a. Wiring diagrams that call for hookup of equipment furnished by others are approximate and are for bidding purposes only. b. Obtain wiring diagrams, certified correct for the job, from respective Trade for equipment and systems furnished by them. c. Install work in accordance with certified wiring diagrams. 3. Control devices: a. Do not accept control devices from other trades unless they are properly tagged. D. Owner Furnished Equipment: 1. General requirements: a. Provide power wiring in conduit and make connections to disconnect switches, motor controllers, motors, heating elements, etc., as shown on the Equipment Schedule or as otherwise called for. b. Mount control equipment furnished with the equipment. c. Provide control wiring in conduit and make connections to motors, motor controllers, heating elements, control devices, etc., as called for on Equipment Schedule or as otherwise called for. d. Provide receptacles, cover plates, disconnect switches, etc., as required. e. Provide green grounding wire to all circuits. f. Receptacles at a common location shall be ganged in a common box. g. Conduit shall be 3/4 inch size minimum. h. Circuits may be combined in common conduit by increasing conductor and/or conduit sizes as required by code. 2. Provide all work, including roughing, according to equipment provided layout showing exact location of equipment and exact electrical ratings of equipment to be connected. 3.3 PREVENTION OF CORROSION A. Protect all metallic materials against corrosion. B. Do not install aluminum in contact with earth or embedded in concrete. Where connected to dissimilar metal, protect by compatible fittings and provide anti-oxide treatment. C. Provide hot dip galvanized ferrous metal materials such as bolts, braces, boxes, bodies, clamps, fittings, guards, nuts, pins, rods, shims, washers, and other miscellaneous parts not made of corrosion-resistant steel.
