What is the relationship between these two alternates?
Both these alternates involve ceramic wall tile. Do the scopes overlap?
There is no way to know what conditions surround the existing framing in question. Should an allowance be provided for this item?

Bidders could not gain access to Rooms 206 and 306 to review existing conditions during Pre-bid Site Visit. Are photos available?

Response
The scopes in these two alternates are the same EXCEPT for the material to be used for the countertops. The Owner may accept either or neither, but shall not accept both.
No. In Alternate No. 3, both the base scope and the alternate scope are completely outside the shower areas. In Alternate No. 4, both are completely inside the shower areas.
Addendum No. 1 shall revise the key note to provide a more precise scope to be carried at bid time.

These MEP scopes are to be included in both Alternates Nos. 1A and No. 1B. Addendum No. 1 shall modify the language of these alternates to make this intention more explicit.
Addendum No. 1 shall include drawings with photos providing an approximation of the existing conditions in each room. The selected contractor will be required to verify these conditions
before starting construction.
