HomeMy WebLinkAboutSeeley Mudd Hall CORNELL UNIVERSITY SEELEY MUDD HALL NEUROSCIENCE FACILITIES CONTRACTS LABORATORY RENOVATION 121 HUMPHREYS SERVICE BUILDING ITHACA, NEW YORK 14853-3701 ADDENDUM NO. 1 December 6, 2016 This Addendum contains changes to the requirements of the Contract Documents and Specifications. Such changes are to be incorporated into the Construction Documents and shall apply to the work with the same meaning and force as if they had been included in the original document. Wherever this Addendum modifies a portion of a paragraph of the specifications or a portion of any Drawing, the remainder of the Paragraph or Drawing shall remain in force. NOTE: Provisions of all Contract Documents apply. Item 1: Specification Section 12 35 53 – Steel Laboratory Casework and Related Products, Item 2.05 C: ADD 2. Acid Storage Cabinet: Acid storage cabinet shall utilize the same gauges of steel and construction features as other base cabinets except they shall be completely lined with a one-piece polyethylene corrosion resistant liner. The liner shall be 1/4" thick, molded into a seamless tub, including top, sides and bottom, with a 1" lip at the bottom front to contain spills. Tubs shall include integral cleats at both ends and back to support the shelf. Each door shall have a set of louvers at the top and bottom, and have a 1/8" sheet polyethylene liner. Cabinet shall include a full-depth removable phenolic resin shelf. Coordinate height with counter height shown on the drawings. Item 2. Drawing A001 – Door and Room Finish Schedules Details H1 and J1 ADD At reveal adjacent to door frame, corridor side, end of outer layer of gypsum board to receive end bead, taped and spackled to match to existing. Room Finish Schedule DELETE Note - “Window blinds as indicated on plans shall be CD80 by Hunter Douglas or approved equal.” REPLACE with “Refer to specifications for roller window shade information, Section 12 24 13.” Seeley Mudd Hall Neuroscience Laboratory Renovation Addendum No. 1 December 6, 2017 Page 2 Item 3. Drawing A101 – Demolition and Renovation Floor Plans ADD to Note A12: “Note applies to all windows at Rooms W147, W153, and W153A.” ADD to Note A19: “Painting to also include the horizontal sill closure panel between the fin tube cover and exterior window wall.” ADD to General Renovation Notes: “1. Casework is not anchored to the floor.” ADD to General Renovations Notes: “2. All walls are to be patched/repaired to match existing where Owner or Contractor has removed wall items and/or damaged the wall surfaces.” ADD to Detail 2 – First Floor Renovation Plan: “Mouse Room 144 – Existing perimeter walls have an existing shielding mesh within the walls. This is obsolete and is to remain in the walls to remain and removed with the walls being removed. At corridor door patch/new door – wall infill thickness to match existing wall thickness and field verify wall thickness for frame depth.” ADD to Demolition Notes #5: “For wall demolition – coordinate with the Owner’s Abatement Contractor for the existing wall removal extent. Anticipate removing the walls and leaving the wall floor track for the Abatement Contractor to remove.” Item 4: Drawing A101 – Demolition and Renovation Floor Plans, Detail 2 DELETE “acid storage cabinet” and “flammable storage cabinet” wording at the north wall of Room W153. REPLACE WITH “Acid storage cabinet” at west 2’-0” wide cabinet and “flammable storage cabinet” at the east 3’-0” wide cabinet. See AD1-A1, attached. Item 5: Drawing A501 – Interior Elevations, Elevation 1 DELETE west storage cabinet (acid storage cabinet) door swing graphic. REPLACE WITH door hinge on the east side of the cabinet (right side). Refer to Drawing P100, Note 1 for information. See also other notes this drawing. 3 Drawing E100 Partial First Floor Plan - Power Demolition and Renovation For the electrical panel relocation to the corridor, how will conduit installation work with the corridor ceiling light fixtures that run tight to the wall. Per Installation Note 1 on Drawing E100, new electrical power panel is recessed in the wall. Conduit wiring is to be installed within the wall. 4 Drawing A101 Demolition and Renovation Floor Plans Note D1 - Will floor finish patching be required in corridor when the casework is being removed by Owner? No.
