ADDENDUM NO. I
July 24, 2013
This Addendum contains changes to the requirements of the Contract Documents and Specifications.
Such changes are to be incorporated into the Construction Documents and shall apply to the work with
the same meaning and force as if they had been included in the original document. Wherever this
Addendum modifies a portion of a paragraph of the specifications or a portion of any Drawing, the
remainder of the Paragraph or Drawing shall remain in force.
NOTE: Provisions of all Contract Documents apply.
Item 1. Attached is the Pre -Bid Sign -In Sheet for reference.
BID FORM
Item 2. Bid Form, Page BF -2, Item 3.a.
DELETE "....December 26, 3013."
REPLACE with "....December 26, 2013."
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Item 3. Section 01 73 29, "Cutting, Patching and Repairing", Item 1.4
ADD Item 1.4 B as follows:
`B. The existing Uris Hall roof is a Carlisle EPDM roof installed in 2010 and is
presently under warranty (serial number 10057380). The Contractor shall ensure
that any and all roofing modifications performed under this Contract shall meet
Carlisle's warranty requirements."
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Item 4. Section 07 72 00, "Roof Accessories", Item 1.6
ADD item 1.6B as follows:
"B. Any roofing modifications performed under this Contract shall be performed by a
Carlisle Authorized Roofing Applicator after obtaining written authorization from
Carlisle for the proposed work."
Item 5. Section 28 31 11, "Fire -Alarm System", Item 2.1.A.
DELETE
".... or comparable products by one of the following:
1. Notifier.
2. Edwards System Technologies (EST)."
This system is limited to Gamewell-FCI in order to integrate the existing Basement Animal
Facility fire alarm equipment to remain, and to maintain the UL listings.
Item 6. Section 28 31 11, "Fire -Alarm System", Item 3.2
DELETE Item 3.2.B. in its entirety.
REPLACE Item 3.2.C. with Item 3.2.B. to read as follows:
"B. Exposed conduit in finished spaces shall be painted to match existing ceiling/wall
color of the surface to which they are mounted. Exposed conduits/junction boxes in
mechanical rooms or electrical closets shall be red."

The specs read that no MC type cable is allowed, however, in
areas above concealed spline ceilings where EMT conduit is
not feasible can we use Red Fire Alarm Type MC cable?
All wiring shall be in EMT.

Section 28 3111
Are there any fan shutdown requirements for existing AHU's
or mechanical equipment? There is no motor control schedule
showing fan shut down,
Specification Section 283111 describes requirements
for HVAC unit shutdown. Duct smoke detectors and
smoke damper connections indciated on the drawings
are associated with HVAC units that require
shutdown. There are approixatmely 25 HVAC units
that require replacement of existing fan shutdown
components and wiring.

Can you confirm that the only ceiling work to be done is
removal and replacement work where the architectural work
is (noted explicitly on the RCP)? I notice that there is spline
existing in the rooms where the new partitions are going up
and it shows 2x2 ACT going in on the RCP (i.e. Rill 252A).
If that tile i s supposed to be new are you looking for the
Armstrong Cirrus Angled Tegular tile per Spec 09 51 13?
The scope of ceiling work includes items shown in
the RCP and any required cutting and patching to
install and/or remove fire alarm system. Ceiling
manufacturers are noted in specification Section 09
51 13, "Acoustical Ceiling Panels" article 2.3. Per
Reflected Ceiling Plan Notes (see note #6) and
Section 09 51 23, "Acoustic Tile Ceilings" article 2.1,
the ceiling tiles are to match existing conditions in
the area of work.
