Per AWS D1.1, the steel inspector shall have the following qualifications for non-destructive testing of welds, NDT Level II or NDT Level 1 working under the NDT Level II. • Submit periodic reports to Architect/Engineer during construction. Submit final inspection report summary for each division of work, certified by a licensed professional engineer, that special inspections were performed and that work was performed in accordance with Contract Documents. 8. If initial inspections made by the Owner's testing and inspection agency reveal that any portion of the work does not comply with the Contract Documents, additional tests, inspections, and necessary repairs will be made at the Contractor's expense. 9. If differences occur within or between drawings and specifications regarding materials, strength or quantities, the better material, higher strength and greater quantity indicated, specified or noted shall be provided. 10. For the renovation of The Big Red Barn, existing structural framing information, dimensions, and elevations were obtained from various renovation drawings of the Big Red Barn dated February 17, 1920, May 5, 1958, and July 18, 1991. 2.0 EXISTING CONDITIONS/DEMOLm0N 1. Where building alterations involve the existing supporting structure, provide shoring and protection to insure the structural integrity of the existing structure. Provide and maintain shoring, bracing and structural supports as required to preserve stability and prevent movement, settlement, or collapse of construction and finishes to remain. 2. The contractor is responsible for determining all instances in which shoring or bracing is required. Shoring indicated in the Contract Documents may or may not constitute the extent of shoring required. 3. Selectively demolish structural components as required to construct new work. Only the demolition of existing structural components required for the installation of the new work shall be done unless shown otherwise. As per OSHA regulations, prepare and submit to the Engineer a survey report of the conditions of the framing, floors and walls, etc. Adjacent structure where occupants may be exposed to construction activities, are to be similarly surveyed, reported and submitted. 4. Verify and/or establish all existing conditions, locations, and dimensions of walls, slabs, framing, utilities, finishes, materials, and systems affecting the work. Notify the Engineer of any discrepancies from information indicated on contract documents prior to ordering materials. 5. Patch, repair or replace existing finishes and materials disturbed during demolition. Repairs or replacement shall match adjacent existing and/or new finish materials and meet the approval of the Engineer. 6. The structural work is based on documents of the existing construction referenced above and conditions observed during site surveys. Verify and/or establish that existing building components conform to the existing building documents and field conditions noted on design drawings. Examine the layout, elevations, member sizes, connection, details, etc. of the existing structure. Report any discrepancies to the Engineer before any affected work is performed. 7. Remove finishes from existing construction and expose existing construction as required. Notify the Engineer of any deterioration or cracking of the existing construction prior to proceeding with any affected work. 3.0 EARTHWORK 1. Excavation shall be performed so as not to disturb existing adjacent buildings, streets and utility lines. Verify location of all utilities prior to commencement of work. Hand excavate around utilities as required. 4.0 MICROPILES 1. Micropiles shall be installed to support a minimum service load capacity of 20 tons in compression and 10 tons in tension. 2. Estimated pile length for micropiles is 35 feet and shall be used for bidding purposes only. 5.0 CONCRETE 1. Concrete shall be reinforced, detailed and constructed in accordance with the Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318-08), and the Manual of Standard Practice. 2. All concrete shall have minimum compressive 28 day strength of 5,000 psi, with a severe exposure category (C2 per ACI 318). Air Entrainment 4% to 6% in all exposed concrete work with a maximum water to cement ratio = 0.4 and maximum water-soluble chloride ion content in concrete = 0.15 (percentage by weight of concrete). 3. Reinforcing steel: ASTM A-615 Grade 60. 4. Welded Reinforcing Steel: ASTM A-706 Grade 60. 5. Welding of reinforcement shall be with low hydrogen E80 -XX electrodes for welding ASTM A-706 bars. 6. All welding of reinforcing steel shall be in accordance with AWS D1.4, "Structural Welding Code - Reinforcing Steel". Anchor Rods: ASTM F1554 (51), Grade 55, weldable. 7. Welding electrodes for field welding: E70 -XX series, low hydrogen. 8. Welding of reinforcing bars (ASTM A706) to structural steel: E80 -XX series, low hydrogen. 9. All welding and personnel is to be prequalified according to AWS D1.1, "Structural Welding Code - Steel". 10. All complete joint penetration welds (CJP) and partial joint penetration welds (PJP) shall be prequalified welded joints in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.1M. 11. All flare bevel groove welds to a HSS member shall have an effective throat thickness of 5/8 x the wall thickness of the HSS member. 12. For fillet welds and partial joint penetration (PJP) welds not shown, provide minimum fillet weld size in accordance with AISC Table J2.4 and minimum effective throat thickness for PJP welds in accordance with AISC Table J2.3. 13. All fillet welds which have a gap/root opening greater than 1/16 of an inch are to have their leg size increased by the gap size (minimum). The maximum gap/root opening shall be limited to 3/16 of an inch. 14. Welds are to be inspected prior to coating weld surface. 15. Beams shall be equally spaced unless noted otherwise. 16. Field welded surfaces within 4 inches of welds shall be cleaned and ground smooth. After welding coat surface with appropriate primer/paints as specified. 17. The gaps between all intermittent fillet welds exposed to view in public areas shall be filled with a material (i.e. "Bondo") approved by the Architect, such that the intermittent weld appears continuous. 18. Provide Special Inspections for all steel construction and related work in compliance with IBC 2009 - Chapter 17 - "Structural Tests and Special Inspections". 7.0 POST INSTALLED ANCHORS A. General Requirements: 1. Anchor capacity is dependent upon spacing between adjacent anchors and proximity of anchors to the edge of concrete. Install anchors in accordance with spacing and edge clearances indicated on the drawings. 2. Substitution requests for alternative products must be approved in writing by the Structural Engineer of Record prior to use. If the Contractor requests the use of a substitution for an anchor product, the Contractor shall provide signed and sealed calculations demonstrating the substitution is capable of achieving the performance values of the specified anchor product and the design value is equal to or greater than the product specified on the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall also submit the ICC ESR showing compliance with the relevant building code. All anchor sizes and embedment depths must be evaluated and compared to the specified anchor product in order for the substitution to be reviewed and approved. 3. All anchors shall assume the concrete is cracked, U.N.O. 4. Anchors shall be installed by qualified personnel in accordance with the Contract Documents. 5. The installation of post installed anchors shall be in accordance with the Manufacturer's Printed Installation Instructions (MPII). 6. The Contractor shall arrange for an anchor manufacturer's representative to provide onsite installation training for all of the anchors specified. The Structural Engineer of Record must receive documentation confirming that all of the Contractor's personnel who install anchors are trained prior to the commencement of installing anchors. B. Mechanical Anchors: 1. Mechanical anchors denoted on the structural drawings have been designed in accordance with IBC 2009 and ACI 318 Appendix D. 2. Mechanical anchors noted thus 'Titen HD" in sections and details installed into concrete shall use Simpson Strong -Tie Titen HD heavy duty screw anchor per ICC ESR -3037. 3. Anchors to be installed in accordance with ICC Report and Manufacturer's recommendations. Anchor diameter, spacing and embedment depths are noted in sections and details. 4. Mechanical anchors shall be stainless steel for exterior use, exposed to weather, or installed into exterior masonry. Provide galvanized or electroplated zinc carbon steel anchors at other locations, U.N.O. 5. If reinforcement is encountered during drilling, abandon and shift the hole location to avoid the existing reinforcement. Provide a minimum of 2 anchor diameters or 3 inches, whichever is larger, of sound concrete between the anchor and the abandoned hole. Fill the abandoned hole with non -shrink grout. If the anchor or dowel cannot be shifted as noted above, notify the Engineer immediately for direction on a new location. 8.0 STRUCTURAL WOOD 1. Design, fabrication and construction of wood framing shall conform with: a. "National Design Specifications for Wood Construction" NDS -05, 2005 Edition, with 2005 Supplement. b. American Institute of Timber Construction: Timber Construction Manual (latest Edition). c. American Plywood Association: Plywood Design Specification. d. American Wood Preservers Association Standards. e. National Lumber Manufacturers Association. f. National Forest Products Association. 2. All structural dimensional lumber, unless noted otherwise on the drawings, shall be Spruce Pine Fir (SPF) No1/No2 or other species having the following minimum properties: a. Fb = 875 psi (for 12" depth, adjust for other depths), Ft = 450 psi, Fc parallel = 1,150 psi, Fc perpendicular = 425 psi, Fv = 135 psi, E = 1,400,000 psi. b. Dried to maximum moisture content of 19%. 3. All structural dimensional lumber exterior exposed or in contact with masonry or concrete, unless noted otherwise on the drawings, shall be Southern Pine No. 2 or better, treated per AWPA standards, having the following minimum properties: a. Fb = 1100 psi, 1000 psi, 925 psi, 800 psi, and 750 psi (for 4", 6", 8", 10", and 12" depths, respectively), Fc perpendicular = 565 psi, Fv = 175 psi, E = 1,400,000 psi. b. Shall be treated with ACQ, to a net retention of 0.25 pcf, for above grade applications. c. After treatment, kiln -dry preservative treated lumber to a maximum moisture content of 19%. 4. All laminated veneer lumber (LVL), unless noted otherwise on the drawings, shall have the following minimum properties: Fb = 3100 psi (for 12" depths, adjust for other depths), Fc parallel = 2,600 psi, Fc perpendicular = 845 psi, Fv = 285 psi, E= 2,000,000 psi 5. All sawn lumber shall be sound, below 19% moisture content, free from warp, stamped in accordance with the American Institute of Timber Construction's 'Construction Manual', and shall be manufactured to comply with PS20 of 'American Softwood Lumber Standards'. 6. Nails to be of a length to provide 10D penetration into main member, UNO. 7. Screws to be of a length to provide 10D penetration into main member, UNO. 8. Materials of fasteners to be such that Fyb is as follows: a. Nails: i. 100,000 psi for 0.099" < D < 0.142" ii. 90,000 psi for 0.142" < D < 0.177" iii. 80,000 psi for 0.177" < D < 0.236" iv. 70,000 psi for 0.236" < D < 0.273" b. Screws: i. 100,000 psi for 0.099" < D < 0.142" ii. 90,000 psi for 0.142" < D < 0.177" iii. 80,000 psi for 0.177" < D < 0.236" iv. 70,000 psi for 0.236" < D < 0.273" c. Bolts: 45,000 psi d. Lag Screws: 70,000 psi 9. Connection details show arrangements of structural members. Detailing of connection shall be the responsibility of the builder/fabricator. Connections shall be Simpson Strong -Tie connectors where applicable. 10. All bolts are to receive washers at both ends; carriage bolts at nut side only. 11. Clearance hole for shank of lag bolts is to match shank diameter, for the same depth of unthreaded shank. The lead hole diameter for the threaded portion is to be 70% to 75% of the shank diameter. Splitting of members by lag bolts is not permitted. 12. All hardware and connectors in contact with preservative treated wood shall be hot dipped zinc coated (as per ASTM Al 53/G185) or stainless steel. Contractor shall coordinate with treated lumber manufacturer for compatibility of product used. Use of SBX (DOT) borate preservative treatment is recommended for members not exposed to water/moisture, due to reduced corrosiveness in comparison to ACQ. 13. Unless noted otherwise, fasteners are to comply with 'Fastening Schedule' Table 2304.9.1 of IBC 2009. 13. Keep structural wood protected during delivery, storage, handling and erection. Do not store in areas excessively high in humidity. 14. Stud bearing walls shall be continuously bridged with wood blocking at mid -height and posts shall be one -piece -continuous between floor and roof levels. Install fire blocking as required by applicable codes. 15. All posts and studs shall stack continuously to solid bearing on foundation walls or beams. Provide solid blocking and or cripples as required between floors and at foundation level. 16. Wall studs shall be located directly under floor and roof members, unless noted otherwise. 17. All members are to be installed with AF&PA requirements. Members are not to be drilled or notched in excess of NDS or local code requirements, whichever is more stringent. The Contractor is to submit a repair sketch to the Architect/Engineer for review and approval of replace members which are drilled or notched excessively. 18. All built-up post of two plies are to be nailed together with 10d nails at 6" o.c.; three plies are to be nailed together with 30d nails at 8" o.c.; four plies are to be bolted together with 34" diameter bolts at 8" o.c.. For 2x6 and wider members provide two rows of fasteners. Nails are to be staggered. Adjacent nails are to be driven from opposite sides of the member. For 2x6 and wider members, nails are to be 1-1/2" in from edges; and 1" in from edge for 2x4 members. Bolts are not to be staggered; and centerlines are to be 2" from edge of members for 2x6 and wider members. 9.0 SHEATHING AND WOOD DECKING 1. Plywood shall be identified with the DFPA grade -trademark of the American Plywood Association, and shall be installed in accordance with the project specifications. 2. Plywood face grain shall be perpendicular to supports. Joints in plywood are to be staggered. Nailing and screwing of plywood floor/roof diaphragms shall comply with APA requirements, and unless noted otherwise, fasteners ore to conform to "Fastening Schedule" Table 2304.9.1 of IBC 2009. 3. Plywood for roof sheathing shall be minimum 5/8 and each shall conform to APA PSI rated sheathing, 40/20, exterior, 48" x 96" plywood, and shall be minimum two span continuous. Provide lumber blocking as edge supports as indicated, otherwise, use panel edge clips, tongue and groove plywood. 4. Plywood for underside of mezzanine sheathing shall be minimum 15/32 and shall conform to APA PS1 rated Structural I plywood. Provide lumber blocking at edge supports as indicated. Any work which has been covered or otherwise made inaccessible prior to review by the special inspector and/or the inspector of the governing jurisdiction is subject to removal or exposure. 4. Continuous inspection is required as specifically noted. This may be a requirement of the building code, the governing jurisdiction or the manufacturer. 5. The special inspector shall be certified to perform the types of inspection specified and shall demonstrate competence to the satisfaction of the building official. 6. The contractor is responsible for notifying the special inspector and the jurisdictional inspector a minimum of one day before the work is to be performed. 7. The special inspector shall be personally familiar with the contract documents and project specifications and must personally observe all of the work reported on. 8. The special inspector shall furnish inspection reports to the building department and the engineer of record. My discrepancies shall be immediately brought to the attention of the contractor for correction and to the attention of the engineer of record. 9. PROTECTION: Protect all existing roof surfaces, rooftop structures, equipment and site elements from damage during the course of the work. Protect all interior finishes, furnishings, and contents from damage during the course of work. B. SCOPE: Contractor shall undertake only the scope of work shown on the drawings and in the specifications. Contractor shall notify Design Professional of existing concealed conditions not indicated on the drawing that might affect the scope of work. Contractor shall not proceed with any work pertaining to said conditions without prior approval from the Architect and/or Owner. C. LOCATION OF REPAIRS: The location of required repairs shown on the drawings are approximate. Actual locations and extents may vary slightly in field from that which is shown in plan. D. KEY NOTES Q ASPHALT ROOFING REPLACEMENT For the extents noted on the drawing, remove existing asphalt shingle roofing, ferrous flashing components, underlayment and sheathing to expose rafters. Coordinate with structural rehabilitation scope. Following completion of structural rehabilitation, provide new 'cool' asphalt shingle roofing system in laid in "six—course, six—inch stepped off diagonal method", and consisting of vented plywood sheathing, underlayment (refer to Ice Dam Protection Membrane Key Plan and specifications), copper flashings and new asphalt shingles. Refer to typical details for asphalt shingle layout and installation. Note: Installation of asphalt shingles may change based on slope of roof assembly. Refer to typical roof section B/S5 and sheet S12 for typical roofing details and cut sections as shown on roof plan and elevations for additional information. { 2 AWNING REPLACEMENT Remove existing wood awning including asphalt shingles, ferrous flashing components, underlayment and wood sheathing. Refer to Keynote 16 on the elevations for scope of work for the awning brackets. Replace awning framing and provide new painted awning sheathing to match existing. Provide new asphalt shingle roofing as noted in Keynote 1 of this sheet (Note: vented sheathing is not required for awnings). Integrate awnings with adjacent vented board and batten siding and provide new apron flashing at termination into wall. Refer to 6/S10 for additional information. FLAT SEAM COPPER ROOFING INSTALLATION Where denoted, remove existing asphalt shingle and built—up roofing down to substrate. Permit review of substrate condition by design professional and coordinate extent of roofing and substrate replacement. Assume 24 SF of deck replacement. Parge exposed chimney substrate and replace underlying damaged deck with new plywood to match. Provide new high temperature ice dam membrane and flat seam copper roofing. Integrate with adjacent wall, chimney, downspout, fire escape pipe framing and low slope roofing. Refer to 1 & 2/S13 for additional information. 04 DOWNSPOUT REPLACEMENT Remove existing downspout, scupper box and any leaderheads from wall. Provide new copper scupper, scupper box and downspout to grade and splash blocks. Miter and solder all changes in direction and provide new stainless steel functional anchorage hardware, to be submitted & approved by Engineer. Refer to details 1 & 5/S13 for additional information. ( VENTED RIDGE CAP REPLACEMENT Remove existing vented ridge cap assembly and all interior prefabricated roof baffles. Where noted on drawings install new prefabricated vented ridge cap that is compatible and can be roofed over with approved asphalt shingles. Vented ridge cap shall be vented through roof sheathing rather than previously existing baffle assembly. Refer to 2/S6 for additional information. SHINGLE ROOF HIP REPLACEMENT Remove existing and provide new asphalt shingle hips. Field of asphalt shingle roof shall continue to hip line, and provide new matching hip cap shingles in accordance with typical details. Start installing caps at bottom of hip and work up slope. To prevent cracking, make sure the caps are warm enough to permit proper forming over the ridge or hip. Lap with the weather and ensure that fasteners are not exposed. Refer to typical details on sheet S12 for additional information. 07 GAMBREL ROOFING SLOPE CHANGE For new roof, install field of asphalt shingles from lower slope to upper slope in typical asphalt roofing pattern. For new roof, strip in roofing underlayment lapped with the weather per Ice Dam Protection Membrane Key Plan. Install field of asphalt shingles in accordance with 3/S6 and typical roofing details on sheet S12. Q OPEN VALLEY REPLACEMENT Remove existing and provide new open copper valley flashings, full length. Terminate asphalt shingles at edge of copper valley flashings. Provide full ice dam membrane underlayment at valley and strip in edges of copper valley. Refer to detail D/S12 for additional information. CUPOLA RESTORATION Following mobilization, permit engineering review of structure and sill condition. The intent is that the cupola be lifted from the roof and restored on grade in order to facilitate curb rebuild and flashing integrations. Contractor shall remove all deteriorated wood cladding, louvers and framing. Rebuild cupola to match existing using both new and salvaged lumber. Cupola shall have new copper flashings and shingle roof. materials in good condition and as noted on the details. on grade to match existing with new lumber and salvage, copper flashings and asphalt shingle roof. Line the interior with a receiver and duct for new inline fan (see note below) Refurbish all components to remain including weathervane and paint exposed elements to match existing. Set rebuilt cupola on new fully flashed curb. Refer to detail elevations & 4/S11 for additional information. Note: An inline fan including wiring and controls will be furnished and installed by Owner within the Cupola. Contractor shall provide conduit with pull strings suitable for power and controls for the fan to allow Owner to install wiring and devices at a later date. 13 14 15 16 17 DRIP EDGE REPLACEMENT Following installation of new roof sheathing, provide new copper drip edge for full length of all rakes and eaves. Match exposed hemmed edge of adjacent roofs. Refer to typical detail B and C/S12 for additional information. SHED DORMER ROOFING AND CLADDING REPLACEMENT At dormer shed roof remove existing roofing, flashings and sheathings, and at dormer cheek wall remove board and batten cladding and sheathing. Provide new sheathing, and cladding/asphalt roofing in accordance with typical wall and roof sections. Provide ice dam protection membrane in accordance with key plan. At dormer cheek walls, provide copper base flashings at cheek wall interwoven with asphalt shingles and integrate new cheek wall claddings. Refer to typical roofing details on sheet S12 and detail 8/S13 for the cladding & flashing scope. CHIMNEY FLASHING REPLACEMENT Remove existing base flashings and associated chimney roofing. Install new framed chimney cricket with ice dam protection membrane underlayment and clad in flat seam copper. Provide full base flashings and new counterflashing of sufficient dimensions and construction to provide a water—tight assembly. Coordinate with adjacent asphalt roofing work and shed dormer. Refer to typical roofing details on sheet S12 and to details 2/S11 & 2/S13 for additional information. ALTERNATE 1: PROVIDE SNOW RAILS As part of ALTERNATE 1 provide new brass snow rail with base plates placed in the 3rd row of shingles above the gambrel ridge, or eave of the roof or dormer. Snow rail shall have end caps, collars and ice flags shall be installed evenly spaced as recommended in typical details and by manufacturer. Follow minimum spacing from valleys, hips and rakes as noted on roof plan. For roof slopes of 12:12 & 20:12, base plates shall be equally spaced, with spacing not to exceed 28" O.C.; For roof slopes of 6:12, base plates shall equally spaced, with spacing not to exceed 36" O.C.; Refer to typical detail F/S12 for additional information. ALTERNATE 1: PROVIDE SNOW GUARDS As part of ALTERNATE 1 provide new copper snow guards in approximate location shown on the roof plan. Set in dispersed pattern (stagger each row), approximately 2'-0" O.C. within each row and spaced rows every 3 courses of asphalt shingles, or approximately 15". Set first row approximately 6 courses up from eave. Verify placement with Design Professional in the field. WALL MOUNTED LIGHTS/UTILITIES/APPURTENANCES Where noted on drawings, de—energize and lockout wall mounted lights/utilities/appurtenances and remove and salvage for reuse. Following installation of new exterior cladding, reinstall items in original location. AWNING BRACKETS REFURBISHMENT Awning brackets may be left in place during the scope of work. If brackets need to be removed to facilitate mobilization at the walls during construction (at the contractors discretion), brackets shall be salvaged and marked such that they can be reinstalled in place at the wall. Remove any loose paint and deleterious materials. Refurbish with new paint and wood filler prior to replacement. Re—installation shall be with new stainless steel fasteners to match existing. Assume replacement of (6) brackets. LOCALIZED MASONRY REBUILD AND LINTEL REFURBISHMENT Remove and salvage masonry where denoted on drawings to facilitate removal, salvage and refurbishment of steel lintel. Scrape/Prime/Paint lintel with new epoxy mastic coating. Reinstall salvaged masonry in kind with full head/bed/collar mortar joints. Refer to detail 3/S11 for additional information. WINDOW AND DOOR SCOPE Where denoted on drawings, contractor shall provide new window and door flashings consisting of installation of foam sealant at perimeters and new self adhered flashing (SAF) to integrate with installed draining weather resistant barrier (WRB). For all windows and doors, work shall proceed similar to details 4-6/S10. Window and door frames shall have any loose paint and deleterious materials removed. Comply with requirements for temporary enclosures, dust control, heating, and cooling specified in Section 015000 "Temporary Facilities and Controls." C. Temporary Shoring: Provide and maintain shoring, bracing, and structural supports as required to preserve stability and prevent movement, settlement, or collapse of construction and finishes to remain, and to prevent unexpected or uncontrolled movement or collapse of construction being demolished. 1. Strengthen or add new supports when required during progress of selective demolition. 3.4 SELECTIVE DEMOLITION, GENERAL A. General: Demolish and remove existing construction only to the extent required by new construction and as indicated. Use methods required to complete the Work within limitations of governing regulations and as follows: 1 .Proceed with selective demolition systematically, as shown in suggested plans, elevations, and details. 2. Neatly cut openings and holes plumb, square, and true to dimensions required. Use cutting methods least likely to damage construction to remain or adjoining construction. Use hand tools or small power tools designed for sawing or grinding, not hammering and chopping, to minimize disturbance of adjacent surfaces. Temporarily cover openings to remain. 3. Cut or drill from the exposed or finished side into concealed surfaces to avoid marring existing finished surfaces. 4. Do not use cutting torches until work area is cleared of flammable materials. At concealed spaces, such as duct and pipe interiors, verify condition and contents of hidden space before starting flame-cutting operations. Maintain fire watch and portable fire- suppression devices during flame-cutting operations. 5. Maintain adequate ventilation when using cutting torches. 6. Remove decayed, vermin-infested, or otherwise dangerous or unsuitable materials and promptly dispose of off-site. 7. Remove structural fr-aming members and lower to ground by method suitable to avoid free fall and to prevent ground impact or dust generation. 8. Locate selective demolition equipment and remove debris and materials so as not to impose excessive loads on supporting walls, floors, or framing. B. Removed and Salvaged Items: 1. Roofing: Remove no more existing roofing than what can be covered in one day by new roofing and so that building interior remains watertight and weathertight. 1. Remove existing roof membrane, flashings, copings, and roof accessories. 2. Remove existing roofing system down to substrate. 3.6 DISPOSAL OF DEMOLISHED MATERIALS A. General: Except for items or materials indicated to be recycled, reused, salvaged, reinstalled, or otherwise indicated to remain Owner's property, remove demolished materials from Project site and legally dispose of them in an EPA-approved landfill. 1. Do not allow demolished materials to accumulate on-site. 2. Remove and transport debris in a manner that will prevent spillage on adjacent surfaces and areas. 3. Remove debris from elevated portions of building by chute, hoist, or other device that will convey debris to grade level in a controlled descent. B. Burning: Do not burn demolished materials. C. Disposal: Transport demolished materials off Owner's property and legally dispose of them. 3.7 CLEANING A.
