By Commissioner : Seconded by Commissioner
RESOLVED, That the minutes of the February 28, 2018 Community Police Board meeting be approved
as published.
Approval of the minutes was deferred until the April meeting due to the lack of a quorum.
Report from Common Council Liaison:
Common Council Liaison Kerslick shared information on the recent appointments to the new
Commissions. The Commissions will begin meeting on Monday evenings in April.
A question and answer period followed on the appointment process used for the Commissions and
whether there were any applications received from people interested in serving on the Community Police
Board. Further discussion followed on the role of the Community Police Board and the role of the Public
Safety and Information Commission and the communication channels that should be established via the
appropriate Common Council Liaisons and the staff members that have been assigned to support both
groups.
A discussion item for the April agenda is a possible presentation to the Public Safety and Information
Commission on the role of the Community Police Board.
Report from Staff:
City Clerk Holcomb reported that she still needs to collect confidentiality agreements from two
Commissioners.
She further reported that her records indicate that a few former Commissioners have not returned their
Community Police Board identification cards. It was decided that letters should be sent out requesting
that they be returned.
Motion to Enter Into Executive Session:
Chair Kane reported that no complaints have been submitted, and there are no active ongoing
investigations at this time.
Adjournment:
On a motion the meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
