CALL TO ORDER: 3:35 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Approval of the September 27, 2017 minutes was deferred to the November
meeting due to the lack of a quorum.
REPORT FROM THE COMMON COUNCIL LIAISON:
Common Council Liaison Kerslick reviewed the most recent results of the
Community Outreach Worker Program survey (25 responses received):
Service providers reported having a good working relationship with the
Community Outreach Worker and 94% of the providers reported being very or
completely satisfied with the Community Outreach Worker’s ability to connect
individuals with services, provide emotional support for individuals, and help
individuals meet basic needs.
The Board noted that they would like to know if the Police Department was
seeing the same results (ie. fewer calls for service) and what their experience
with this program has been.
Further discussion occurred regarding the businesses included in the survey and
the overall service area.
The most recent report will be reviewed at the November Board meeting.
REPORT OF STAFF:
City Clerk Holcomb reported that Mayor Myrick sent a letter to former
Commissioner LaFave thanking her for her service to the Community Police
Board and the community.

She further reported that the complainant of complaint #2017-1 contacted the
Mayor’s Office to inquiry about the status of their complaint. It was determined
that the complainant’s address changed since the complaint was first filed, so the
letter of determination was resent to the new address provided.

Common Council Liaison Kerslick reviewed the Police Department’s $12.2 million
budget submission. No “Requests above the Mayor’s Budget” were received
from the department.

revenues, vacant staff positions, and the Gorge Ranger program.
ADJOURNMENT:
On a motion the meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted
Julie Conley Holcomb,
City Clerk
