APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Eastman made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 17, 2001 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. NEW BUSINESS New Position Duties Statement: Youth Bureau - Administrative Assistant (Financial Management) The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Ithaca Youth Bureau. Commissioner Eastman made a motion to classify the position as Administrative Assistant (Financial Management). Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. OLD BUSINESS New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: ICSD - Affirmative Action Officer The Commission reviewed and discussed a letter from Superintendent of Schools Judith Pastel which responded to the questions raised by the Commission at their May meeting about the proposed new position of Affirmative Action Officer. Commissioner Eastman made a motion to classify the position as Affirmative Action Officer and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Civil Service Commission June 7, 2001 Page 2 Authorization to birect Public Hearing to Amend Civil Service Rules Commissioner Eastman made a motion to direct a public hearing on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 9:30 am for the purpose of amending the Civil Service Rules by adding the position of Affirmative Action Officer to the non-competitive class. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. CONTINUING BUSINESS Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 2- 0. During executive session, the Commission took the following actions: Approval of Rosters of Candidates for Examination Commissioner Eastman made a motion to approve the Rosters of Candidates for Examination listed below. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2- 0. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Approval of Personnel Transactions Commissioner Eastman made a motion to approve the Personnel Transactions listed below.
