NEW BUSINESS
Reclassification Requests: Ithaca City School District - Clerks (2) to Typists (2)
The Commission reviewed and discussed reclassification requests submitted by two Clerks in
the Attendance Office of Ithaca High School. Deputy Human Resources Director Saul is
recommending that the two positions be reclassified to Typist, based on the daily
keyboarding duties of the incumbents. The Ithaca City School District does not oppose the
reclassification. Commissioner Eastman made a motion to reclassify the positions from
Clerks to Typists. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0.
New Position Duties Statement: Building Department - Senior Plan Examiner
The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Building
Department. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Senior Plan
Examiner. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0.
Format of Minutes
The Commission discussed whether the format of the Commission minutes should change, now
that the minutes are being posted on the Internet. The minutes contain the names of
individuals in both the Continuous Recruitment Lists and Personnel Transactions sections. An
individual whose name appeared on a Continuous Recruitment List objected to her name being
available through the Internet. After discussion, the Commission decided that all of the
information contained in the minutes is public information, so no change to the format of the
minutes is necessary.
