APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 3, 2002 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. NEW BUSINESS New Position Duties Statement and Revision of Job Description: Ithaca Housing Authority - Public Housing Manager The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Ithaca Housing Authority and proposed revisions to the Public Housing Manager job description. The revisions update the job description. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Public Housing Manager and adopt the revised job description. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: Ithaca Housing Authority - Data Entry Specialist The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Ithaca Housing Authority and the proposed job description for Data Entry Specialist. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Data Entry Specialist and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: Ithaca Housing Authority - Maintenance Secretary The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Ithaca Housing Authority and the proposed job description for Maintenance Secretary. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Maintenance Secretary and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Youth and Pre-teen Program Administrator and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement: Department of Public Works - Parking Lot Attendants (2) The Commission reviewed and discussed New Position Duties Statements for two positions in the Department of Public Works. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the positions as Parking Lot Attendants. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3- 0. New Position Duties Statement: Department of Public Works - Motor Equipment Operator The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Department of Public Works. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Motor Equipment Operator. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement: Department of Public Works - Maintainers (3) The Commission reviewed and discussed New Position Duties Statements for three positions in the Department of Public Works. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the positions as Maintainers. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. Authorization to Direct a Public Hearing to Amend the Civil Service Rules Commissioner Thompson made a motion to direct a public hearing for Thursday, March 7, 2002 at 9:30 am for the purpose of amending the Civil Service Rules by deleting the positions of Arts Program Supervisor, Ithaca Activities and Cultural Coordinator and Planner IV (PT) from the Non-competitive Class, by deleting the position of Sanitation Men from the Labor Class and by deleting the positions of Fire Commissioners, Members of the Planning Board, Police Commissioner and Public Works Commissioners from the Unclassified Service. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the annual report. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. CONTINUING BUSINESS Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0.
