APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 17, 2003 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. NEW BUSINESS Reclassification Request: Controller's Office - Payroll Coordinator The Commission reviewed and discussed a request to reclassify the Principal Account Clerk position in the Controller's Office to Payroll Coordinator. The incumbent is performing the work of the Payroll Coordinator and the assignment of those responsibilities is a permanent one. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to reclassify the position from Principal Account Clerk to Payroll Coordinator. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. New Position Duties Statement: Ithaca City School District - Typist The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Ithaca City School District. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Typist. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. CONTINUING BUSINESS Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss a personnel matter and civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0. During executive session, the Commission took the following actions: Appointment of Section 73 Medical Officer Commissioner Thompson made a motion to appoint Faye Ewing as the medical officer for an independent medical examination to be conducted pursuant to Section 73 of NYS Civil Service Law. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Civil Service Commission September 4, 2003 Page 2 Approval of Roster of Candidates for Examination Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the Roster of Candidates for Examination for Engineering Technician Examination #62-497. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Establishment of Eligible Lists Commissioner Thompson made a motion to establish the eligible lists specified below for the time period indicated. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Code Enforcement Officer #74-269 (1 year) Code Inspector #73-737 (1 year) Environmental Engineer #60-799 (1 year) Fiscal Manager #73-920 (1 year) Housing Inspector #74-197 (1 year) Senior Plan Examiner #73-335 (2 years) Revision of Eligible List Commissioner Thompson made a motion to revise Police Dispatcher Eligible List #60-798 following the re-scoring of the 911 Performance Test. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Addition of Names to Continuous Recruitment Eligibility Lists Commissioner Thompson made a motion to add the names listed below to the continuous recruitment eligible lists indicated for a one year period. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0.
