APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 13, 2003 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. NEW BUSINESS New Position Duties Statement: DPW - Bus Driver The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Department of Public Works. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Bus Driver. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: City Clerk's Office - Information Management Specialist (2) The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the City Clerk's Office and the proposed job description for Information Management Specialist. City Clerk Holcomb stated that she is reorganizing her office by eliminating the positions of Deputy City Clerk and Administrative Secretary and replacing them with Information Management Specialist positions. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the two proposed positions as Information Management Specialist and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. New Position Duties Statement and Revision of Job Description: Ithaca Housing Authority - Receptionist The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Ithaca Housing Authority. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Receptionist and to revise the Receptionist job description so that it is appropriate for multiple agencies, rather than just the Ithaca Youth Bureau. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Civil Service Commission March 13, 2003 Page 2 New Position Duties Statement: DPW (Water and Sewer) - Laborer The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Water and Sewer Division of the Department of Public Works. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Laborer. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: DPW - Shuttle Van Driver (2) The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement for two new positions in the Department of Public Works and the proposed job description for Shuttle Van Driver. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the two positions as Shuttle Van Driver and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. CONTINUING BUSINESS Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0. During executive session, the Commission took the following actions: Approval of Rosters of Candidates for Examination Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the Rosters of Candidates for Examination listed below. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Assistant Engineering Systems Manager #68-684 Police Chief #63-997 Establishment of Eligible Lists Commissioner Thompson made a motion to establish the eligible lists specified below for the time period indicated. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0.
