Commissioner Richardson called the meeting to order at 10:50 am.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Eastman made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 8, 2003
meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS
New Position Duties Statement: Ithaca Fire Department - Fire Lieutenant (temporary)
The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Ithaca
Fire Department. The Fire Department is requesting a temporary, twelve (12) month position
to replace a Fire Lieutenant who is on military leave. Commissioner Thompson made a motion
to authorize a temporary Fire Lieutenant position for the period February 13, 2003 through
February 13, 2004. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 3-0.
Approval of Annual Report
The Commissioner reviewed and discussed the 2002 Annual Report to the NYS Department
of Civil Service. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the annual report.
Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0.
CONTINUING BUSINESS
Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil service
examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. During
executive session, the Commission took the following actions:

The Commission discussed the CSEA Classification Study during executive session. No action
was taken.
