APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Eastman made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 2, 2004 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: City Chamberlain's Office - Assistant Fiscal Manager The Commission reviewed, and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the City Chamberlain's Office and the proposed job description for Assistant Fiscal Manager. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the position as Assistant Fiscal Manager and to adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement: Ithaca City School District - Typist (2) The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement for two new positions at the Ithaca City School District. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify both positions as Typist. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement and Revision of Job Description: Ithaca Housing Authority - Community Services Coordinator The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement for a new position at the Ithaca Housing Authority and the proposed revisions to the job description for Coordinator of the Department of Community Services. The revisions update references to the social services programs offered by the Ithaca Housing Authority. The title of the position will also be changed to Community Services Coordinator, which is more concise. Commissioner Richardson made a motion to classify the position as Community Services Coordinator, revise the job description as proposed, and change the position title from Coordinator of the Department of Community Services to Community Services Coordinator. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. Commissioner Richardson made a motion to classify the position as Homeownership Counselor and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. Classification Study Appeals The Commission reviewed and discussed the appeals submitted in response to the tentative classification recommendations of the CSEA Classification and Compensation Study, and identified their next steps in reviewing the appeals. Extension of Police Chief Eligible List #63-997 Mayor Peterson presented a request to extend Police Chief Eligible List #63-997. The Commission and the Mayor discussed the request in depth. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to extend Police Chief Eligible List #63-997 until September 9, 2004. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 3-0. CONTINUING BUSINESS Commissioner Richardson made a motion to enter into executive session to discuss civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. During executive session, the Commission took the following actions: Establishment of Eligible Lists Commissioner Thompson made a motion to establish the eligible lists specified below for the time period indicated. Seconded by Commissioner Eastman. Motion carried 3-0. Information Management Specialist #75-155 (1 year) Microcomputer Technician#64-595 (2 years) Addition of Names to Continuous Recruitment Eligibility Lists Commissioner Thompson made a motion to add the names listed below to the continuous recruitment eligible lists indicated for a one year period. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 3-0.
