Conclusions:BPAC meeting time changed to 7:00 pm,instead of 6:30 pm,on the second Thursday of each month.

Cayuga Waterfront Trail Rick Manning 40
Discussion:Rick Manning reviewed the trail project in detail,including design details of streetscape elements,bridges,
sculpture,and inscribed bricks.The trial will be 10 ft.wide for bicycles and pedestrians.The Cass Park section is the first
section being built a City crew.
Project funding is$150K from the Environmental Bond Act and$275K from the City.The trailhead is being privately
funded.
"Imagine a trail that follows the lakeshore and the Inlet from Stewart Park to Allan H.Treman State Marine Park.The
Cayuga Waterfront Trail will be a six-mile linear nark linking our community's most valued waterfront destinations.

• Intermodal transit center,possible support resolution
Question raised:should BPAC pass resolution endorsing inter modal center? Discussion of intermodal transportation center.

Issues considered included DAC interest in accessibility,potential conflicts with bus traffic entering/existing center from Green St,
indoor air quality with idling buses. Possible loss of funding.use of funding to improve existing problems crossing Green Street as •
pedestrian,phase-out of most polluting buses,and other possible benefits also discussed.
Motion to support intennodal transit center on Green St made by Max,seconded by Ron. Approved 6-0-1.
• Crosswalk location recommendations
After much discussion of pros and cons of individual locations;mention of general principles or concerns like"no crosswalks to
nowhere";consistent treatment at all school crossings;and emphasis in treatment on durability,visibility,use of contrasting
materials;report on comments of Dan Coles including issue of crosswalks at uncontrolled locations and benefits of runway-light
style demarcations. David Henderson moves,Kelley seconds motion and then vote of 6-0-1passed to request capital project funds
for the construction of crosswalks at the following priority locations. Full write up of proposal detailed in Capital Projects Request-
Crosswalks attachment posted by David Henderson to listsery on June 22,2002.

e. Prospect/Tumer/East Spencer/Clinton intersection(A: across Prospect along the east side of intersection; B:across Turner
from the southeast corner with East Spencer; C:across East Spencer along the south side of Prospect/Clinton;and D:
across Clinton in front of police station).
f. Hudson @ Prospect(south side of Prospect).
g. Elm Street @ the ACS stairs.
h. State @ Mitchell(at stop bar for westbound Route 79 traffic).
i. Campus @ Stewart.
j. Stewart near Edgemoor(at the north end of the Cascadilla Creek bridge).
Quorum lost at 8:45. Additional discussion and announcements(e.g.draft of proposed Bike Plan route and treatments,including
pictures and GIS intersection sketches, have been run by city staff and sent to Lou Fenune at DOT for first cut engineering
evaluations);no actionable items.
