New Business: Award of Bid - Breathing Air Compressor and Air Storage – Resolution By Vice Chair Sparks: Seconded by Commissioner Hoard WHEREAS, on January 31, 2017, the City of Ithaca posted a Notice to Bidders with specifications for a Breathing Air Compressor with Air Storage; and WHEREAS, on February 16, 2017, the City of Ithaca Controller’s Office received sealed bids from four bidders; and WHEREAS, Chief Parsons, Assistant Chief Tier, and Deputy City Controller Andrew reviewed the bids, specifications, options, and proposals made by each bidder; and WHEREAS, after review, the Fire Chief recommends the award of the bid be made to Jerome Fire Equipment Company Incorporated, 8721 Caughdenoy Road, Clay, New York; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, That the Board of Fire Commissioners approves the award of a bid and contract between the City of Ithaca and Jerome Fire Equipment Company, Incorporated, in accordance with the pricing and bid form summary (attached) for Breathing Air Compressor and Air Storage for a total cost of forty-four thousand nine hundred dollars ($44,900.00), which includes three thousand eight hundred dollars ($3,800.00) allowance for trade-in of the existing air compressor and two thousand four hundred fifty dollars ($2,450.00) option for the purchase of a seventy-five (75) foot air reel to be piped to the compressor. Carried Unanimously Award of Bid – Uniforms and Accessories – Resolution By Commissioner Hoard: Seconded by Vice Chair Sparks WHEREAS, on January 31, 2017, the City of Ithaca posted a Notice to Bidders with specifications for Uniforms and Accessories; and WHEREAS, on February 16, 2017, the City of Ithaca Controller’s Office received sealed bids from two bidders; and Board of Fire Commissioners Meeting Minutes February 21, 2017 WHEREAS, Chief Parsons, Assistant Chief Tier, Lieutenant Farwell, and Deputy City Controller Andrew reviewed the bids, specifications, options, and proposals made by each bidder; and WHEREAS, after review, the Fire Chief recommends the award of bid be made to Star Uniform Center, 207 Center Street, Scranton, Pennsylvania; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, That the Board of Fire Commissioners approves the award of the bid and contract between the City of Ithaca and Star Uniform Center in accordance with the pricing for Uniforms and Accessories (attached) of this resolution.
