Hallett-Harris --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meeting called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Eric Nichols The Minutes from March 8, 2016, April 12, 2016, June 14, 2016 and September 13, 2016 were all voted on and approved unanimously. Jesse Tedora has been officially appointed by the Mayor to the Board. There were several announcements from Liz: The Green Room and the former storage room by the 1st floor kitchen have had new flooring installed. The staff recently had a retreat and Jeff Berkowitz was the speaker of the retreat at LaTourelle. The retreat was excellent and we are excited about the work that was introduced by Jeff. The staff will be having Staff Meeting on 10/12 in which the first half will be employee recognition and then a training called Mindfulness & Yoga. The Cass Park Extravaganza on 11/5 which is fundraiser for the enclosure of the rink and email will be sent to board members with all of the information. The final monitoring document had been emailed to board members and everything agreed that it was all set. Jessie made motion to approve the form and Mark 2nd the vote, it was unanimous that the documents are finalized. Jody confirmed with Joe that BBBS needs to have the Board’s monitoring done in January/February of each year for the Nat’l BBBS requirements. The monitoring has been done for 2016. There was a discussion regarding having each department come to the board meetings to have an informal question and answer session and then as we decided last year, then a board member is to shadow/monitor the program before the next meeting. Jody will see if she can get two Coordinators for the next meeting. That supervisor/coordinators should be prepared to give an overview of their program, highlights of the year and any changes or challenges they are facing. Liz advised that the new pavilion rental forms and rates for the pavilions were approved by BPW. There is new language in the rental forms as well as a slight increase in the fees for 2017. There was some discussion regarding Friends of Stewart Park and questions regarding the museum. They are working on park master plan where everyone is on the same page and a company called Pro’s will be doing some focus groups, surveys ,etc., to see that everyone is including, that all groups are working together on Stewart Park as a whole. Cal Ripkin/Babe Ruth and the IYB have been working together for youth baseball programs and they have an “agreement” to use a field at Cass Park, including storage. Dave Warden gave an update from the Board of Public Works - Dave Warden was not at the meeting, but George gave update of the approval of BPW for the pavilion rates and forms. Friends of the IYB: Mary Grainger is continuing the work on the campaign for enclosing the rink at Cass Park and is there is an event on November 5th - further information will be emailed. George McGonigal gave an update from Common Council that the Mayor’s recommended budget is out and two of the capital improvements, the Cass Park Pool slide replacement was not approved, the full rink enclosure $$ was not approved, but the pool repairs were approved.
