REPORT FROM COMMON COUNCIL:
Common Council Liaison Kerslick reported that the 2017 budget process has
been successfully completed. Common Council was able to reduce the tax rate;
however property assessments increased, so most property owners will only see
a small reduction in their tax bills. The Police Department requested funding for
4 - 5 vehicles as the fleet is aging.
He further noted that Commissioners Rogers, Wright, and Beem-Miller have
terms expiring December 31, 2016 and asked if they would like to be re-
appointed as he will be speaking to the Mayor regarding committee
appointments. He stated that he knows of someone who may be interested in
serving on the Board and they may come to the December meeting to observe.
Discussion followed on the floor regarding the position of Chair for 2017 as the
co-chairs have asked for a change of leadership so others could hold the
position.
