APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Abrams made a motion to approve the minutes from the October 1, 2014 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. NEW BUSINESS Update of Job Description: Planning Department - Director of Planning and Development The Commission reviewed and discussed proposed updates to the Director of Planning and Development job description. The updates reflect the incorporation of the former Building Department into the Department of Planning and Development, and the Director of Planning and Development’s new responsibilities for overseeing the Building Division. Commissioner Richardson made a motion to update the Director of Planning and Development job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement: DPW – Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator/Trainee The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Department of Public Works. Commissioner Abrams made a motion to classify the position as Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator/Trainee. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 3-0. During executive session, the Commission took the following actions: Civil Service Commission November 12, 2014 Page 2 CONTINUING BUSINESS Approval of Rosters of Candidates for Examination Commissioner Abrams made a motion to approve the Roster of Candidates for Tenant Relations Assistant Examination #65-904. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. Approval of Personnel Transactions Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the Personnel Transactions. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 3-0. The next Civil Service Commission meeting will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11:30 am. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:39 am.
