HomeMy WebLinkAboutMN-CIV-1996-07-16 CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING July 16, 1996 Present: Commissioner Bantuvanis Commissioner Desch, Commissioner Perko, Hugh Hurlbut (Interim Personnel Administrator, Denise Malone (Administrative Secretary) Commissioner Bantuvanis called the meeting to order at 11:07 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Desch made a motion to approve the minutes from the June 11, 1996 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Perko. Motion carried 3-0. NEW BUSINESS SUMMARY OF ANNUAL REPORTS - 1995 The Commission discussed the State Civil Service Department's Annual Report for 1995 and the proposed civil service changes. EXAMINATION FEES The Commission discussed charging a fee for civil service exams. Commissioner Perko made a motion to approve charging a fee of $7.00 for each civil service exam. Seconded by Commissioner Desch. Motion carried 3-0. APPROVAL OF POLICE OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION Mr. Hurlbut mentioned the changes that were made to the Police Officer job description. The Commission reviewed and discussed the proposed changes. Commissioner Desch made a motion to accept the changes to the Police Officer job description. Seconded by Commissioner Perko. Motion carried 3-0. RESIDENCE REQUIREMENT The Commission reviewed the resolution distributed by Mr. Hurlbut. Mr. Hurlbut stated that the resolution delegates to the Personnel Administrator the responsibility to set the residence requirement for exams and vacant positions. Commissioner Desch made a motion to accept the resolution delegating authority to the Personnel Administrator to set the residence requirement for exams and vacant positions. Seconded by Commissioner Perko. Motion carried 3-0. CONTINUING BUSINESS APPROVAL OF PERSONNEL TRANSACTIONS Commissioner Perko made a motion to approve the Personnel Transactions listed below. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis.
