CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Regular Meeting October 18, 1993 Present: Commissioner Bantuvanis, Commissioner Perko, Valerie Saul (Personnel Administrator) , Bonnie Fiorille (Senior Stenographer) Excused: Commissioner Middleton Commissioner Bantuvanis called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Perko made a motion to accept the minutes of the September 13 , 1993 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS NEW POSITION DUTIES STATEMENT: POLICE - COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER, The Commission reviewed and discussed the New Position Duties Statement for Community Service Officer. Personnel Administrator Saul explained that this is a new position that needs to be classified and a job specification needs to be adopted. She also explained that this position has been through the budget process. Commissioner Perko made a motion to classify the new position as Community Service Officer and adopt the job specification. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried. NEW POSITION DUTIES STATEMENT: POLICE - SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER Personnel Administrator Saul recommended that his item be tabled until next month when the Commission would have an opportunity to review the job description. NEW POSITION DUTIES STATEMENT: YOUTH BUREAU - VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement for Volunteer Coordinator. This position is funded by a grant and will be in the Paul Schreurs Memorial Program. Commissioner Bantuvanis made a motion to classify the new position as Volunteer Coordinator. Seconded by Commissioner Perko. Motion carried. CONTINUING BUSINESS Commissioner Bantuvanis made a motion to go into Executive Session to discuss Civil Service examination matters. Motion carried.
