Home My WebLink AboutMN-CIV-1991-12-09 • REGULAR MEETING CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION December 9, 1991 PRESENT: Commissioner Bantuvanis, Commissioner Perko, Valerie Saul (Personnel Administrator) , Lisa Patz (Personnel Associate) , Bonnie Fiorille (Senior Stenographer) ABSENT: Commissioner Middleton Commissioner Bantuvanis called the meeting to order at 3:45 p.m. PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO CIVIL SERVICE RULES Commissioner Bantuvanis made a motion to open the public hearing on the Proposed Amendments to Civil Service Rules. Motion carried. The following legal notice was published in the Ithaca Journal: LEGAL NOTICE CITY OF ITHACA CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING "Please take notice that pursuant to Section 20 of the New York State Civil Service Law, the City of Ithaca Civil Service Commission will hold a public hearing on December 9, 1991 at 3:45 p.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room - City Hall - 108 East Green Street - Ithaca, New York, for the purpose of amending its Rules by adding the positions of "Assistant Cooks" , "Bakers" and "Assistant Bakers" to the non-competitive class. All interested parties and citizens for or against the adoption of these changes to the Rules are invited to attend and be heard. " There were no persons present to address the Commission on the public hearing. Commissioner Bantuvanis made a motion to close the public hearing. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Perko made a motion to accept the minutes of the November 12, 1991 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS ADDITION OF POSITIONS OF ASSISTANT BAKERS, ASSISTANT COOKS AND BAKERS TO THE NON-COMPETITIVE CLASS Commissioner Perko made a motion to accept the following Resolution. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried. Civil Service Commission Meeting December 9, 1991 Page 2 RESOLUTION FOR AMENDMENT TO APPENDIX $ = NON-COMPETITIVE CLASS OF THE CITY OF ITHACA CIVIL SERVICE RULES On December 9, 1991, the Ithaca Civil Service Commission passed the following resolution: WHEREAS, the City of Ithaca Civil Service Commission duly advertised and held a Public Hearing on December 9, 1991, for the purpose of amending Appendix = Non-Competitive Class of the City of Ithaca Civil Service Rules by adding the positions of "Assistant Bakers" , "Assistant Cooks" and "Bakers" and, WHEREAS, the Ithaca Civil Service Commission supports the proposed amendment, and no persons spoke against the proposed amendment, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the following positions be added to Appendix B. = Non- Competitive Class.: Assistant Bakers Assistant Cooks Bakers CONTINUING BUSINESS Commissioner Bantuvanis made a motion to go into Executive Session to discuss Civil Service examination matters.
