Home My WebLink AboutMN-CSC-1999-11-15 s CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Regular Meeting November 15, 1999 Commissioners Present: Commissioner Bantuvanis, Commissioner Desch Commissioner Richardson Staff Present: Valerie Saul (Deputy Director of Human Resources) Commissioner Bantuvanis called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Richardson made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 12, 1999 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried 2-0, with Commissioner Desch abstaining because he was not present at the October 12th meeting. NEW BUSINESS Revision of Recreation Assistant Job Description The Commission reviewed and discussed proposed revisions to the Recreation Assistant job description. The revisions involve the inclusion of the expressive arts as recreational activities. The expressive arts have always been included as an element of recreational programming at both GIAC and the Youth Bureau. The revisions do not impact any of the existing positions. They provide a more accurate description of the work performed. Commissioner Richardson made a motion to adopt the revisions as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Desch. Motion carried 3-0. New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: DPW - Senior Tree Trimmer The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Department of Public Works and the proposed job description for Senior Tree Trimmer. The Commission discussed at length whether high school graduation was an appropriate requirement for this position. Commissioner Desch made a motion to classify the position as Senior Tree Trimmer and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis.
