Old Business
Cathi Ganger is still awaiting official appointment from Mayor Cohen. Bob will call him.
Proposed web page for DAC was distributed and met with approval. John asked if we could put
F.L.I.C.'s e-mail address on it. Richie stated that Lennore has requested that we do not do that.
F.L.I.C. will have a link however.
Bob Newhart reported that he contacted the boy Scouts of America on volunteers for snow
and ice removal for elderly and disabled. They are interested. Bob distributed a letter to that effect
and it was approved and signed by Richie and Bob. John suggested including the Girl Scouts of
America. Bob agreed to follow up on that.
The statistics for handicapped parking violations were unavailable. Will bring up next month.
Discussion of what it would mean to start an accessible parking enforcement program in Ithaca.
Would require a dispatcher, uniforms etc. Unsure of cost. Discussion of how large the program
would be. DAC only has jurisdiction in the City. John suggested that we need to decide how we
are going to address the problem. Cathi suggested distributing leaflets that look like tickets. John
suggested stickers that say " This Jerk Parks In Handicapped Parking Spaces".
New Business
Bob has collected catalogues of assistive devices. He will continue and build a library.
Bob announced an assistive technology and other disability issues web site;
HTTP:\\Blvd.com.
Cathi requested that people notify her or Richie if they need large print or audio agendas/minutes.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:15 pm
The next meeting will be March 5th at City Hall
Quote of the meeting: "The Baby Boomers are the fastest growing consumers of assistive technology because they
haven't taken very good care of themselves."regarding target market for growing assistive technology fair

has been accepted by D.A.C. members with deep regret. We all wish him the best.
VI. City Transportation:
Mark will look into the problem that the McGraw House residents face trying to get on
the bus. Possibly they could use the newer bus that lowers.
VII. B.I.D. Visit:
Possibly a couple members of the Downtown Business Owners would come instead of
the newly appointed director, due to the short length of time he has served at this point.
