Minutes -- December, 1989
Present: William Demo, Chris Heegard, Richard Herskowitz, Tom Terrizzi.
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:40 pm.
2. There were no minutes of the November, 1989 meeting as there was no quorum.
3. Chair's report (by Vice-Chair Bill Demo):
Chairperson Streb has resigned from the commission. Mr. Demo will try to
retrieve whatever relavant files she may wish to pass on. The New Mayor will appoint a
replacement for her.
Mr. Heegard stated that he will ask the mayor to reappoint him to the Commission
as his term expires with this meeting.
There were no letters or complaints to review.
4. Public Comment: None during the public comment session.
5. Report from American Community Cablevision:
No one from ACC was present to give a report. Mr. Terrizzi will forward to the
Commission the information presented by Barbara Lukens at the November meeting.
6. Old Business:
Mr. Herskowitz will call the City Attorney to discover the status of the
negotiations with ACC over the amendment to the Franchise Agreement which would
permit political endorsements on access channels.
Senior Citizen's Discount: Mr Demo will contact Janice Streb to determine the
status of her work on establishing a procedure for verifying senior citizen's income so
they may qualify for an ACC discount.
7. Access Advisory Board:
Mr. Herskowitz reported that there has been much conflict on the Access
Advisory Board. He feels that this conflict has prevented the Board from accomplishing
some of its goals. He expects that there will be a number of resignations from the Board
in the near future by individuals who will be getting on other city commissions and
boards. The Commission and/or ACC will have to fill those vacancies when they come up.
The next meeting was scheduled for January 9, 1990.
The meeting was adjorned at 8:30 pm.
