HomeMy WebLinkAboutMN-CABLE-1990-03-05 Community Access Advisory Board Minutes of 3/5/90 The meeting was called to order at 7: 10 PM at the Public Access facility. CAAB members in attendance: Mary Jo Dudley, Floyd Johnson , Bill McCormick , Peter Hess, Lauren Stefannelli and John Efroymson . The vast majority of the meeting was spent discussing a conflict between Videoactive and Prime Time Chaos (PTC) , regarding scheduling of studio and editing reserved time spots. Producers McCormick and Schmitt, along with Videoactive members Furberg and Swenson discussed the nature of the dispute. The CAAB, after an hour and a half of discussion , recommended to Lauren and ACC that Videoactive be assigned studio time from 4:30 PM-7: 15 except the third Saturday of each month when they should have 5-7: 15. The CAAB also recommends that Prime Time Chaos have first right to Videoactive' s studio time once Videoactive is no longer in production (anticipated to be the end of the summer, 1990) . This would allow for contiguous studio time for their show. Lauren will explore the issue of contracts in the future to attempt to assure that situations such as this do not arise again . On another topic , McCormick noted that ACC has made public its intention to expand basic cable service to 16 channels. He moved : " In light of ACC' s committment under the franchise to develop, expand and promote access channels (section 14. 1 ) , ACC should purchase converters for the expansion of basic service in order to accomodate up to eight additional channels and one governmental channel on the basic service. " Passed by consensus. Next CAAB meeting : Monday, April 2 at the TC Public Library, Sherman Peer Room. Adjourned at 9:30 PM. Submitted by John Efroymson
