HomeMy WebLinkAboutMN-CPB-2011-02-24ITHACA COMMUNITY POLICE BOARD MEETING APPROVED MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board PLACE: Third Floor, Common Council Chambers, City Hall, 108 East Green Street TIME /DATE: February 24, 2011 @ 3:30 pm PRESENT: Commissioners Bush, Laskowitz, McGruder and Slattery; Alderperson Zumoff ABSENT /EXCUSED: Commissioners Firenze and Smith; Chief Vallely; Staff: Herden GUEST: none Chairperson Slattery called the meeting to order at approximately 3:30 pm. 1. Approval of Minutes of Meeting of January 27, 2011 The minutes were approved unanimously. 2. Comments from the Public There were no comments from the Public. 3. Report from Common Council Alderperson Zumoff discussed the status of the gorge bridges design process. 4. Report from Police Department There was no report from the Police Department. 5. Report from Staff There was no report from staff. 6. Old Business Shirley Kane was appointed as a new CPB Commissioner. 7. New Business a. Election of Officers Dan Slattery was elected as Chair and Charles Firenze as Vice Chair, both unanimously. 8. Adjournment to Executive Session @ approximately 4:15 pm Motion to move to executive session to discuss open complaints then return to public session and adjourn. Two new investigations were discussed and voted on: 1. Complaint was voted unfounded and closed. (McGruder/ #0211) 2. Complaint was voted unfounded and closed. (McGruder/ #0311) 9. Meeting ended at approximately 4:45 pm. No new complaints and one new citizen letter of compliment were received between the January and February board meetings.
