City Hall 108 E. Green Street, Ithaca, N.Y.
Present: Commissioners Danny Slattery, Jonathan Laskowitz, Bird McGruder, Bob
Wigden, Charles Firenze, Staff Nancy Falconer. Common Council liaison J. R.
Claiborne. Absent: Chief Vallely. Guest; Nikki Sayward
LApproval of minutes of May 28th, 2009: Approval unanimous.
2. Public: Nikki Sayward was present to observe.
3.Common Council Member: Discussion of bike registration., and no smoking laws and seat
belts in the back seats of police cars.
4. Police Report:
No police personnel were present.
5. Old Business
CPB will move along with GIAC staff in August of 09, to the now vacated Family and
Children's space on lower State Street. Children's programs have been set up with BJM.
6. New Business
No new business was brought up.
7. Motion to Adjourn to Executive Session to discuss progress and findings on complaints;
Return to public meeting, report findings and adjourn. Moved by Jon Laskowitz, second
by B. Wigden.
Four investigations were discussed:
( a) (Firenze) One case will be carried over to allow additional time before closing.
( b) (Slattery) This complaint was reported and unanimously voted founded and closed.
(c) ( Slattery) Voted founded: unanimous. The issue, however, was resolved between
officer and complainant when officer apologized .
(d) (McGruder) Complaint dropped by complainant. Closed.
