ITHACA COMMUNITY POLICE BOARD MEETING DRAFT
MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: Third floor Common Council Chambers, City hall, 108 East Green Street,
TIME/DATE: November 20, 2008 @ 3:30 pm
Present: Commissioners Wigden, Slattery, Kerry Flannigan, Bird MacGruder, J. Laskowitz , C.
Firenze, Acting Police Chief, Ed Vallely. Nancy Falconer, Staff, Excused: Councilperson Nancy

1. Approval of minutes of October 23, 2008
Minutes were approved unanimously. Motion made by B. Wigden, seconded by B.
McGrruder.
2. Comments by the Public
No one from the public was present.
3. Report from Common Council
Not present to report.
4. Report From Police Department
a. Discussion of current items, including the police coverage of the Commons. New grants came
in to cover microfiche reader and other. There are several open positions in the department.
5. Old Business
.The 09 budget has been handed to the Comptroller. Total amount of it is $9995. Copies were
distributed to members.
6. New Business: The Board has submitted a donation to Family and Children,s DAP program
as a memorial to Bree Everhart.,.
Kerry Flannery will be leaving the Board after December 3111, 2008.
7 Motion to Adjourn to Executive session To Discuss Results of Current Investigations.
Motion by Flannery, second by Wigden.
8. Return to Public Session, Report on Findings and Adiournment
Seven complaints were discussed,; Two new complaints assigned.
# 1. Closed by unanimous vote.
#2.Carried over to complete.
#3. (MacGruder) Carried over to complete.

#5. No response to attempts to reach him. Write him closed
#6. (Wigden) Resolved, does not want to preceed further, close.
#7. Complaint was over 6 months time limit. Voted to tell her too much time; close
2. The two new complaints were assigned to Slattery, who will take our new member along and use them as training
experience for him.
