MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: Third floor Common Council Chambers, City hall, 108 East Green Street,
TIME/DATE: September 25, 2008 @ 3:30 pm
Present: Commissioners Wigden, Slattery, Kerry Flannigan, Bird MacGruder, Jonathan Laskowitz.
Staff, N. Falconer. Deputy Police Chief, John Barber, Councilperson Nancy Schuler. The meeting
was called to order at 3:35 pm.
1. Approval of minutes of August, 2008
Motion made by J Laskowitz, seconded by B, Wigden. Minutes were approved
unanimously.
2. Comments by the Public
No one from the public was present.
3. Report from Common Council
Discussion of current items.
4. Report From Police Department
There has been a very large heroin bust recently.
Money is being gathered from various grants and other sources toward a new SWAT bus.
Officer successfully performed a suicide talk down recently.
5. Old Business
.The 09 budget was distributed to members and approved by the Board. The total amount came
to $ 9995.00 for fiscal year 2009.
A schedule for tabling at the Apple Harvest festival this weekend was set up as follows:
Dan Slattery and Nancy F will open at 11 to 11:15 am, staying until about four p.m.
Bob will come 12 to 2 pm. Bird will come from 2 to 4.
6. New Business:
A memorial for Bree Everhart will be chosen that serves the needs of at risk children.
