MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: Third floor Common Council Chambers, City hall, 108 East Green Street,
TIME/DATE: July 24, 2008 @ 3:30 pm
Present: Commissioners Wigden, Slattery, Kerry Flannigan, Bird MacGruder, Staff, N. Falconer.
Acting Police Chief, Ed Vallely. Councilperson Nancy Schuler: Excused; Jonathan Laskowitz, The
meeting was called to order at 3:35 pm.
1. Approval of minutes of June 26, 2008
Motion made by B. Wigden, seconded by B. McGruder. Minutes were approved
unanimously.
2. Comments by the Public
No one from the public was present.
3. Report from Common Council
Discussion of current items.
4. Report From Police Department
There have been four burglar arrests in the past month. Traffic enforcement has been heavy.
Candidates for Police Chief will be introduced on 8/5 and 8/6 to the search committee.
5. Old Business
.The 09 budget will be prepared and handed in by August 1'. It will be emailed to board
members for approval before then.
6. New Business: No new business was discussed.
T. Motion to Adiourn to Executive session To Discuss Results of Current Investigations.
Motion by Flannery, second by Wigden.
8. Retprn to Public Session, Report on Findings and Adiournpient
Progress on two complaints were discussed .
1. (Flannery investigation) This complaint has been investigated and voted unfounded.
2. (Slattery investigation) This complaint was investigated and voted founded.
