No one from the public was present to speak. .
3. Report From Common Council
Councilperson Schuler was excused from the meeting.
4. Report from the Police Department
Report from Department shows a very quiet end of the year as far as student parties
and associated arrests. Apparently, steps taken by the IPD and the two colleges have
had a very favorable result on this aspect of life in the city. Discussion of the less
confrontational methods the IPD used : ie except for the worst incidents at parties,
IPD handled ticketing and arrests right at the party rather than the station.
6. Old Business
Difference between liveries and taxis was explained as simply that Liveries by law
cannot pick up in the city and taxis can. Backgrounds for liveriy licenses are not
checked by the police, and are easily obtained at the DMV, even if a driver has a
bad record. The result is that a lot of "liveries" are driving as taxis.
6. New Business
Staff reported that the budget would be presented at the next meeting for approval by
the Board members.
7. Adjournment to Executive Session to Report and Vote on
Results of Current Investigations. Moved by B.Wigden, second by
K.Flannery

Investigation # 1. (Flannery) in progress, and carried to next month.
Investigation # 2 ( Wigden) Attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful, and he
was notified in writing that the investigation was therefore going to be closed if he
did not respond by June 30.
Investigation# 3: Arrived today, and assigned to Dan Slattery.
0 Meeting adjourned.
