Falconer, Liaison (CC) N. Schuler, Police: Tim Williams, reporter from Journal. Excused: LaBerta MacGruder 1. Approval of Minutes of April 24'. 2008 Minutes in Common Council report were corrected to read Sue Kittel . Approved unanimously as corrected 2. Comments by the Public No one from the public was present to speak, however, an Ithaca Journal reporter was present to observe. 3. Report From Common Council Councilperson Schuler reported that the work on Rte 79 that had resulted in detouring trucks and other traffic onto Giles Street, is completed. The concern of some is that trucks may continue to use this route because it avoids the State Street downtown. Any consistent truck traffic that is observed should be reported to City Hall. 4. Report from the Police Department No report. 5. Old Business a) Staff reported that the memorial previously decided upon to be given to the Friendship Center (in Ron Passmore's name) cannot be taken out of CPB funds. The members decided to contribute the $25.00 By each contributing four or five dollars. Some of this was collected at the meeting. A letter will be sent to Paul Passmore telling him of the donation. b) There has been no result of the application given to the potential youth member as yet Staff will try to follow up on this at GIAC.. 6. New Business a) Commissioner Slattery brought up the question of the different status or requirements of a taxi license and a livery license. Apparently there are several people driving under a livery license who have previously been refused a taxi license. Councilperson Schuler said she will ask the legal department to clarify this for us. 7.Adiournment to Executive Session. To report and vote on results of current investigations. Moved by J. Laskowitz, second by B. Wigden.. 8. Return to Public Session.( report on results and adiourn.) Two new complaints have come in this past month. One has been assigned to B. Wigden, the other just assigned to K. Flannery. Investigation # 1. Carried over, as it has only recently been started. Investigation # 2 Carried over. Just assigned during this meeting, no report available.
