Slattery, B.Wigden, Jonathan Laskowitz, Kerry Flannigan, Acting Chief Vallely, Deputy Chief J. Barber, Councilperson Schuler and Nancy Falconer, staff. Excused, B. McGruder 1. Minutes of February 28, 2008 were approved unanimously; moved by J Laskowitz, seconded by B. Wigden. 2. No public was present. 3. Common Council report: Discussion of activities. 4. Police Report: a) Chief Vallely reported on four commendations of IPD officers, which were given to staff for letters to be sent to them. b) 5 positions will soon be open as people leave. Aggressive recruiting is ongoing. c) Slope Day is May 2 and Ithaca College `Pleasant Street' Day is the same. Cornell is hiring police coverage, and noise coverage by Ithaca Police will become extended three weeks from now. The colleges plan extensive activities that day to help lessen the number and effect of potential student parties. d) DNA is being used increasingly_by this Department to solve crimes.. Old Business A potential youth member has asked to apply, and was given the application. 6. New Business GIAC offices, including ours, will be moved to an unidentified location. The timing is not known either, although Marcia Fort says sometime between April and the late Fall of 2008. Everything has to be moved from the premises because of the major renovations scheduled for the building. 7, Motion to adjourn to Executive Session moved by Kerry Flannigan, to discuss open investigations and to vote on findings. 8. Return to Public Session to Report on Findings, then Adjournment Two investigations were discussed and voted upon. a) Dan Slattery_ The complaint is recommended unfounded. Unanimous vote the complaint is not founded. Close investigation. b) Kerry Flannery: This complaint is recommended founded, the vote to be founded was unanimous. Investigation closed.
