MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board..... draft
PLACE: 108 E. Green Street City Hall, Common Council Chambers
DATE & TIME: 3:30 PM January 24, 2008
PRESENT: Commissioners: Slattery, Flannery, McGruder, Laskowitz,
Alderperson Schuler, Staff, Nancy Falconer
Absent:Commissioner Wigden, Deputy Chief Vallely
1. Approval of Minutes of December 27, 2007 meeting: Motion to approve by
B. McGruder, second by J. Laskowitz: Approved unanimously.
2. Comments by the Public
No public was present.
3. Report from Common Council
Alderperson Schuler will hereafter replace Maria Coles as liaison to this
Board.
4. Report from the Police Department
No police present to report. No action taken
5. Old Business
Staff reported the final report from accounting for 2007 showed our budget
under spent.
6. New Business
Staff distributed handouts of draft for the 2007 report to Common Council.
No action was taken.
7. Adiournment to Executive Session to discuss and vote on results of current
investigations of complaints; motion made by Commissioner Laskowitz,
second by Flannery.
8. Return to Public Session; Report and adjournment.
Three previously opened investigations were discussed and
decisions made about them by the Board members. In addition, one new
case was discussed.
1. J. Laskowitz: This complainant has not yet answered the letter
that was sent to him, however it is possible he on break when it was sent.
Decision made by members to repeat the letter and close if no response in a
period of two weeks after sending
2. D. Slattery: The final report on this investigation recommended
that it be founded. Board voted unanimously to do so.
3. K. Flannigan: This investigation is still in progress. It will be
carried over to next month.
4. J. Laskowitz: Assigned to Laskowitz and a meeting has been set
with the complainant. Carried over to next month .
The meeting was adjourned at 4:48 pm.
