MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: Common Council Chambers, City hall, 108 East Green Street, Ithaca, N.Y.
TIME/DATE: May 24, 2007 @ 3:30 pm
Present: Commissioners Wigden, Slattery, Laskowitz, Satomi Hill, Passmore, Flannery, Wm
Bibbie, Bird McGruder, Chief Lauren Signer, Staff, N. Falconer.
Absent, , Chavonte Perkins, Herb Nelson., Councilperson Maria Coles
The meeting was called to order at 3:35 pm.
Introduction of newly appointed Board member, William Bibbie III.
Approval of minutes of March 23, 2006
Motion made by J. Laskowitz, seconded by Passmore . Minutes were approved
unanimously.
2. Comments by the Public
No one from the public was present.
3. Report from Common Council
Common Council liaison was not present.

4. Report From Police Department
The annual Prospect Street party and Slope Day at Cornell were relatively quiet and
broke up early due to the presence of Officers from various Police Departments.
5. Old Business
a) Satomi Hill resigned for a year or so, and brought her notebook and badge. She plans
to rejoin the CPB later.
b) Herb Nelson is leaving Ithaca later this summer and will resign at that time.
6. New Business
7. Adiournment to Executive session To discuss and vote on open investigations
Moved by Wigden, second by Passmore
8. Return to Public Session to Report on Decisions, and adjourn
Four open investigations were discussed and voted on by board members.
1. One complaint is being carried forward for another month to complete details .
This was agreed and voted on unanimously.
2. One complaint was new and assigned to Wigden and Slattery with the new member.
3. One complaint was voted to be written that his investigation will be closed in two
weeks if we hear nothing more from him. Attempts have been made to reach him many
times with no success.
4. A complaint received last month where the event was 7 months old (November, 2006)
was voted as too late to be dealt with. Board voted unanimously to write him to that
effect.
