MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board ( Draft)
PLACE: 3nd floor Common Council Chambers, City hall, 108 East Green Street,
Ithaca, .
TIME /DATE: June 22, 2006 0 3:30 pm
Present: Commissioners Wigden, Slattery, Passmore, Nelson, Hill, Flannery, Whispell,
Laskowitz, Deputy Chiefs Curatolo and Vallely, staff; Nancy Falconer. Absent, Perkins,
Chief Signer, Common Council Liaison Coles.
1. Minutes of the May 24, 2006 meeting were approved as read. Motion made by Nelson,
second by Slattery. Vote unanimous.
2. Comments by the Public: None present.
3. Report from the Police Department:
a) A new TV recruiting ad was shown. It was put together with local personnel speaking.
b) Three new recruits are going through the various testing processes and are soon to be hired.
4. Old Business:
a) Outreach decisions by subcommittee:
Jonathan L and Cheviot will prepare and deliver a CPB presentation at an outreach assembly at
the High School.
Bob Wigden will do the same with PSA s for the radio station. Bob W. will do articles for the
Cornell Sun; Jon L. will do same for the Ithacan and Ron Passmore will do the same for the
Journal and the Times. Satome Hill will be responsible for outreach to Community Justice.
Staff will resume letters of recognition to officers as they are received from the police
department.
Reports on these activities will be brought back to the CPB meeting.
5. New Business: No new business.
6. Motion by Passmore to adjourn to Executive session to discuss progress on investigations.
7. Adjourn to Public session, report, meeting adjourned.
No open investigations, one new case was assigned.
